Has anyone ever had an Ovarian Cyst Burst?

Sorry that's probably a bit gross
I have (at my follie scans) been found to have an cyst on my left Ovary that was then about 4cm big.
Now, I just wondered do they burst? I am in quite a bit of pain while I'm on my AF which isn't unusual but it feels really localised around my ovary area?
TBH it's a bit of a think out loud question so sorry if that seems a bit random!

Yes cysts do rupture and can twist on your ovaries (I know that sounds weird) the pain is awful as I have PCOS and have had it before!! Doesn't happen to me very often but has happened once or twice!! I hope you feel better soon xxxx

Sorry you're in pain. I've had a few cysts and none has ever burst. But then again, my MIL has had one burst and I know of a friend that's had it happen.
I hope you feel better soon. Do you know if you're going to have it removed?
