Has anybody had a really light period the first cycle after D&C and gotten pregnant and stayed pregnant?
I don't know if this has been asked on here yet or not. I'm trying to decide what to do and I really don't know. My doc says wait until I have a normal AF before TTC again (he and the nurse when I called about something gave the 3 cycles speech). We were going to wait 1 cycle and then try. Well, it was super duper light. Like it would start enough to wear pad (or really a liner, but I was out of them), but then it would stop for a while, and then start up again, and then stop for the night and start sometime the next morning, etc. It lasted about 4 or 5 days, which is normal for me. Previously, I was on the pill and my AF would be start and stop a lot, so that's not really out of the norm - and it was pretty light. The AF before conceiving was light, but not as light as this one was. It makes me nervous that my lining isn't built up enough. But then I think I had light periods before and I still got pregnant?
Then I think... some doctors don't scrape absolutely everything - they just get all the pregnancy tissue they can and let the rest bleed out. Other doctors take absolutely everything. (At least this is what I've read around the internet.) Is this the difference in the time your doctor says to wait? I'm trying to figure out the whys. Everyone says you don't need to wait the 3 cycles, but why do the doctors tell you that? It's really been playing on my mind. My doc did say if my period was normal the first time, then we can go ahead. So why wait for a normal one? Is this to ensure everything is out? I'm just confused, I guess.
