Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has been posted before, I have had a quick search and couldnt find anything current on this topic.

Ive attached the link below which suggests soy iso can be beneficial but I have read many other conflicting articles saying that it can actually be harmful!

Was wondering if anyone has experiences to share of taking soy? I currently do not ov and therefore if I did take soy I would not be able to take it at the beginning of my cycle - is this a good idea?

Heya

I don't currently ovulate either, I had it recommended to me

this week I've started on the holland and barrat Soy so 23mg per tablet and taking two each night (46mg). I can feel something going on but I think I'm going to double the dose as from tonight.

Once I feel proper ov pains then I'll stop taking it and BD away lol, either get a BFP or hoping to at least have an af so I can start to try and track my ov's.

Still waiting to see my gyne, although the appointment should be soon, well see what see suggests if there's still nothing, finegrs crossed though x

Hey butterfly, thanks for responding!

As you have said that you dont ovulate either im assuming that you didnt wait for AF before starting the soy? Are you just taking it for 5 days?

Also was it called soya? Think soy is the american way to say it?

Hey hope you get your appointment through soon, I too am waiting for an appointment and its driving me mad!!!

yep i just started taking it about 4 days ago, i can feel something but not as strong as my usual ov pains so thats why i'm going to up the dose abit

i'm going to take it until i can feel proper ov pains which i think will happen with a higher dose, then i will do a couple of ovulation tests and go from there really.

yep here it's called soya isoflavones, it's in the menopause area in the vitamin section in most heath shops, supermarkets, etc

hey thats what scares me the fact that its in the menopause section...stupid isnt it!! I kind of think if i take it then it will bring on the menopause or something!

hey let me know how you get on and whether it works?! Fingers crossed! Im going to make a docs appointment soon so will see what their views are on it, im hoping that they will test me for insulin resistance.

I have used soy for my past two cycles. I had really irregular periods and was given a 3 month prescription for clomid. My dr. won't give me more until my husband has his issues sorted out. I loved how clomid made my irregular cycles regular, so I have taken it for the past two cycles. It has kept my cycles to a normal length. No BFP for me yet, but that could be due to dh's issues.

yeah the clomid is brill for regulating cycles good luck!

Has anyone else taken soy iso without having af first?!

I've done a few cycles of soy in the last year, to boost ovulation.
I have to say I'm not keen on the side effects, I was very irritable & felt a bit ill on the days I took it.

Might be unrelated, but last months u/s showed I have two ovarian and one uterine cyst & I took soy the cycle before. It's scared me off it anyway!

I'm definitely not going to take it again, I'm sticking to clomid for now x

well i inceeased my dose and i can def feel something happening down there lol

i'll continue on this dose for another day and then see if i ovulate :)

whoop whoop, sounds good!! Let us know how you get on!!

Hey Butterfly, how are you? Have you had any luck with the soy or vit D?
