I posted this in the Girly Sanctuary as well to get as many replies as possible. Sorry if that's not allowed :/

I'm pretty sure I have it and I just wanted to know how you got formally diagnosed? I've spoken to my gp a couple of times but he just prescribes anti-depressants or anti-anxiety meds and sends me on my way. No formal diagnosis and no ways to help me change the way or at least understand the way my brain my works. I'm so tired of feeling this way and hating myself and I think I need proper help.

Thanks in advance x

ring your gp and ask for the tel no for self referral to counciling - all areas in the uk have one and you go on a list - they are pretty quick to give you an initial over the phone consultation to see what the best therapy is. then waiting list - i was only waiting for about 2 months. pills dont fix it you need to fix how your brain is working as its giving in accurate information - the words from my councilor yesterday lol i have only had 2 sessions and they give you a lot of tools to work on yourself at home best thing i ever did is seeing a councilor. pills just paper over the cracks. you dont need a gp to refer you you do it yourself, your gp should have really told you about this service. i think its called iapt the service that is nhs i have googled iapt norfolk but i cant get on the website but also found this site https://www.readytochange.org.uk/suffolk/pages/Home.aspx but as i said your gp reception should have the tel no for you just ask for the tel no for the self refereal counciling team x
