Have just seen this online and was wondering if anybody here has used one of these and been succesful? xx

yes i used one...after trying for so many years and with different thing happening within those years..after i had my right tube removed in 2006..and doctors gave me a 1% chance ttc. but i never gave up hope so i took one and it came back postive.. a couple moths later ended up pregnant.

Did you find it easy to use?, have only read a little bit about it at the moment but wasnt sure if it was much different to the cbfm apart from the huge price difference x

i took Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor Test Sticks
..it's like taking a pregnancy test..but i thought it didn't work because my husband and i never did anything to prevent ttc..i guess it was harder for me since i was just ovulating out of one tube...

Hi Tourilou - Ihad a good read of the wesite yesterday after someone posted about it on here and it seems to just read your temp constantly. I kind of like charting but more sophisticated as it takes something like 20000 readings. I couldnt see how that would tell you your fertile time as the change in temperature only confirms that you have ovulated?!?

There was a tool you could use to predict ""how likely am I to get pregnant?" which was interesting. For me it actually said I was more likely through IVF than the monitor?!?! but more likely on the monitor than by not using it.

You can also add other signs in like cervical mucus etc, so I didnt se it being too much different from general fertility awareness which most ladies on here will already know of. It does stop you having to wake at the same time every morning to take consistant temps.

Would welcome any others thoughts too though.

Love fluffy xx

Fluffy, I've just done the calculator thing too.. results below:

Confusing how it will increase my chances of conceiving by about 10 times?
I don't get it!?

dan-o, that is exactly the result I got (see below). I just wasnt clever enough to save it as an image lol.

I think the first line is my chances of concieving this month (I assume that they assume I dont know any fertility awareness such as CM and temps)

The second line is the chances of the average person my age conceiving.

The third is the chance of conceiving using IVF and the 4th my chance of conceiving using their monitor which wil measure my BBT accuratelyand tell me fertile windows.

Funny they cant give you a line to show my chances of conceive while already temping and noting CM etc. Think it would be quite close to the 4th line! but thats just my thoughts!!!

I got two free preggo tests from duofertilty, in the post today!

I got my two free pregnancy tests in the post too!!

I still dont see how its any more reliable than temping and noting CM!! Would love for someone to tell me otherwise, then I might consider it!

mine looked exactly the same, and given that we've been ttc 10yrs+, it seems a bit weird.

what made me laugh was : 'The "average woman" of your age has no adverse fertility indications and has been trying to conceive for two and a half months' Well, thats f*cking reassurng, thanks!

Hello Torilou,
I saw your post and wanted to give you my opinion about the duofertility monitor.

My mum bought it for me as a birthday present in spring...:dohh: I must say that this is not what I expected! but as I am based abroad for work I don't have access to fertility treatment at a reasonable cost, so it is actually quite sweet of her to have though of it!

The monitor worked for us after 4 cycles, I am now 4 weeks pregnant!
We had been trying for about 30 months before that, my husband has slightly lazy swimmers but the doctors have found nothing wrong with me. And told us that we should keep trying.

The monitor is quite easy to use, and the consultants are very helpful and reassuring.
I had used the clearblue monitor before but gave up after 6 cycles, as I didn't find it helpful, it showed me peak days, we made love on these and i was still not pregnant.
If my cycle has not dramatically changed since then, it looked like we were trying too late in my cycle, as I seem to ovulate on day 10ish.

Anyway, this is a happy story for us, and I wish you the same success if you decide to get one!:happydance:

Oooh, thats interesting, thanks for the feedback on it.
Had you used any other fertility awareness techniques such as charting temps etc prior to using the duo fertility monitor?

hi Fluffy,

I have used morning temperature charting, but because I suffer from insomnia, I often have problems sleeping and my temperature seems to be quite variable. In particular in the middle of my cycle. So my GP had recommended that I stop doing it as it was stressing me out. Because my sensor takes temperature all night long, it can pick the best resting temperature for me and I don't have som much variation!

I have been monitoring cervical secretions, and even if it takes getting used to, I am now quite comfortable doing it. These secretions can also been recorded in the duofertility monitor and I found that it was good to have it all recorded in the same place. My duofertility expert told me that the cervical mucus patterns were kicking in slightly late compared to the ovulation date.

In the last month I also started recording nipple hardness andcervical opening. This was also recorded on the monitor.

I hope that this helps.
Jo

Thanks Jo,
Thats really helpful. I can see how the monitor is quite useful if you have an all over the place sleeping pattern or work nights etc. I know that when I have had to get up early or I have had trouble sleeping my temps are off. However, overall I am quite lucky that I am fairly regular with my sleep so temping results are quite useful for me.

I have found that now that know whenI have ov'ed I can tie in changes in CM and nipple/breast sensations which I wouldnt have attributed to anything previously.

So glad it worked for you xxx I dont think it would help me any more than what I am already doing. My problem is that ov keps geting delayed if I am stressed which makes me more stressed to have to keep "trying" in case is happens in the next few days!

Thanks for the info,
fluffy xx

I'm using the duofertility monitor and it will predict your fertile period going on previous trends. I never took my temps as I knew I would forget and I can have night sweats and restless nights meaning it would be difficult to gain accurate readings. This system takes your temperature a lot during the night and day as well if you wear it during the day (you don't have to only have to wear it at night) meaning it is a lot more accurate. I started using it during my last cycle and this is the first full cycle however it did predict when I should be fertile which I wasn't expecting that quickly. As I have irregular and long cycles this is really handy as we can give up BDing and therefore could have been missing ovulation. I really think this will work for me and at the moment the company are doing an offer that if you don't get pregnant in 12 months they will give you your money back. I figured I had nothing to lose!

i saw this a while ago, she has a blog and everything
