Has the excitement of the 2ww gone for you too?

One of the saddest things about LTTC (pre-assisted conception) is how all that initial excitement of the 2ww just disappears. I’ve become a cynical old hag and because I’ve had every single symptom under the sun over the past year and half of trying (sore bbs, lots of CM, tiredness, grumpiness, cramps, weird tastes, weird smells, nausea etc etc) and yet not a BFP – ever! – I just totally ignore any kind of symptom now and just wait for the inevitable. The nasty witch…

I remember the thrill I used to get (mixed with fear) in that week leading up to AF. Could I be…? Am I…? What if…? What will hubby / mum / friends say… ? Now it’s just ‘how am I gonna feel when AF comes?’.

Anyone else feel this way? x

Hey Trixielox! Completely hear what your saying and feel exactly the same - 2ww is just the time spent hoping I won't have a breakdown when the :witch: arrives!

I feel the same way every month! It is actually getting depressing. The symptoms I get now, I relate them to af, not pregnancy!!!!!!!!!!!

with freakishly irregular cycles, I never know if I've even O'd, so the wait after day 14 holds no excitement at all. Hopefully with the clomid I may get excited a little, we'll see!

i am the opposite. This is only my second known 2WW since starting my journey. Not 100% convinced yet I have ovulated this cycle, but I know given more time I'm going to lose the plot on it. I need to do something else during this time to take my mind off being so anxious

I've never actually had a 2ww o.o Not sure if this is a blessing or a curse.

Totally understand what you mean though! No excitement. Nothing feels new and exciting. I often feel guilty tbh that I sit here and wish the young healthy(ish) years of my life away waiting for appointments.

I am hoping that when I start my IUI and I know I've OV I might get that little rush of adrenaline and wonder!

:hugs:

I still get excited about the TWW but the sight of two pink lines scares me and I can't feel any excitement after our 5 losses. Hoping now the problem is fixed that the next two lines will stick around, but I don't think I will ever feel the same excitement as when I first saw them 9 months and 5 losses ago! This ride sucks and I wanna get off!

Yep, I feel this too. Even if I now get something (such as twinges, sore BBs, CM etc) that I used to think of as a possible preg symptom, I now dismiss automatically, and think I've had it before so why would this month be different. The TWW for me now is just the part of the month where I know there's nothing more we can do that month and we just have to wait for AF to arrive. I then get all positive again at the start of the next cycle, thinking 'right, we'll do it this month', but almost immediately after OV I just know that it won't have happened. I hope and pray that one day I'm wrong... and that it happens for the rest of you too.

On a similar topic but slightly different... I also feel like my life now goes by in 'cycles'. Everything I do, I kind of look at what point I my cycle I am at or will be at. Every 4 weeks passes by so fast and I feel worried I'm wishing my life away waiting for the next OV. x

Trixie...it's like you read my mind and wrote it down!! I am so so like this too. I felt like I'd have every symptom and no BFP, I was beginning to think I was a springer spaniel having a phamtom pregnancy!!!!
Now I try and ignore everything....never works though!!!

I feel exactly the same way. After 3 years I can predict each "symptom" each day of the 2ww that actually has only ever led up to af. Even though the symptoms don't excite me anymore, I still have a speck of hope that I still might be wrong and when I finally do get my bfp that maybe the symptoms will be the same.

Either way my thoughts are torturing myself.

Pleased I'm not the only one girls! I honestly will be so shocked if I get a BFP, I might have a heart attack! People keep saying 'I KNOW you'll get there, sweets' but how do they know? Are they psychic? What if we never get there?

Ergh, such a foul mood this week. I wish I could think it was a symptom but like this all the time pre-AF, ha ha!
