have any of you moved house near xmas???

hi,

have any of you moved house near xmas??? how near was it? how did things go? how did you make sure you knew where xmas stuff was in the pile of boxs other end?


reason i'm asking is that my house is likely to be compleatedin the next 4-6weeks, and this takes us to the begining/2nd week december. i think its going to be manic - 3 kids, 2 dogs, a cat, 28 tropical fish!

We're moving in November so i'll let you know then how it goes!! We've had lots of offers for help though so i'm hoping it won't be the nightmare i think it will be! It'll be great when we're all moved in though xx

we moved in 2005 on the 5th of decmebr with a 4 yr ols and a 1 week old baby and it wasnt too bad

yes its tirering but not too bad

the 1st thing we did was the room and the kids bedrooms that way it just felt like home to the oldest

id say label every bob with the room its going in that way it makes it less stressful

My family moved in 2007 on the 17th December.
We moved about a 15 minute drive, so not too far.
First thing we sorted were beds and sofas so we had somewhere to sleep and sit if we didn't get everything else sorted out on that day. It was my uncle who moved us (he has his own company) so we loaded the lorry the evening before and only had to unload the day we moved.
(It was me, my mum, 2 younger sisters aged 7 and 12)
We moved from a 2 bedroom council house, to a 3 bedroom housing association house that was a new build, so we were the first people ever to live there. It was a perfect christmas present.

I moved October 2003, Dec 12th 2003, Dec 18th 2004..all by myself with DS1 who was 1/2 at the time..was manic and the first thing i did was sort bedrooms out then the 2 times in Dec wipped the decs straight up lol..
We have out house up for sale now and im praying that It doesnt sell now until after Christmas..i want a quiet normal one for once lol
