No, those days don't sound right to me. The time between your last period and your ovulation can vary but it's relatively stable between your ovulation and your next period (about 12 days in most women). So if your cycles are not regular, then the only way to know when you ovulated by the calendar method is afterwards, when your next period comes (you've ovulated about 12 days before your period starts).
Have you considered charting your temperatures? That way you get a much better idea of when you're ovulating each month. Or you could use a Persona computer? That'll actually tell you when you're about to ovulate (so slightly before you do).
