HCG Levels at 12DPO - What were your experiences and levels?

I guess I put this on the wrong forum cuz I got plenty of views and no answers...maybe you ladies can help.

Ok so here's my story, I'm hoping you ladies can share your stories of HCG levels so I can compare.

June 16 - Ovulated
June 25 - 9DPO - HPT negative, pinkish red blood when wiping
June 26 - 10DPO - HPT neg again, again pinkish red streaks when wiping
June 27 - 11DPO - Faint with HPT with sensitivity of 25. No more bleeding
June 28 - 12DPO - blood test show HCG levels at 54 have to go back in 2 days to see if they rise. AF due tomorrow

I don't know but it seems like everything is progressing ok although my RE would like to see HCG above 100 first.

What were your levels around this time? I read a study that said HCG above 50 at 16DPO you have a lot less chances of spontaneous miscarriage. I'd love to hear your opinions and stories!!!

my hcg levels at 5 weeks were 481 and had doubled two days later...sorry its not much but thats my experience with hcg levels x

This pregnancy mine was only 314 at 18 DPO, so yours sounds great.

I dont know what dpo I was but my first HCG level was 30, I did not think I was going to make it, but then it went up to 185 and up from there.

54 looks good as long as you are doubling every 24 to 48 hours. But once you get to 1000 it takes longer to double.

Thank you so much ladies it was really scaring me!!! I had seen a chart where I thought that the HCG leeks seemed normal for me bt then the nurse told me hat she could not confirm viable pregnancy until they were above 100 which freaked me out! Thank you for setting my mind at ease!

I had my HCG test done at 7 1/2 weeks & was 900, i got a letter from the hospital saying it should be between 250 & 2200, so i was happy with my results

i got mine done on friday it was 179 i go tomorrow for a repeat...i'm about 3-4 wks

mine at 18dpo were 3370 this time..everyone is different though good luck i hope ur next results are higher

my last pregnancy which ended in a mmc at 8wks and 6days it was 46 at roughly 16dpo

I totally know how you feel - I usually too freak out about hcg levels, even though I know the numbers don't matter nowhere near as much as the time it doubles. Your second number will speak volumes. The rangers of normal are soooo wide. If you're off in your calculations even by just one or two days, it can make a world of a difference. This time mine was 160 at 12/13 dpo and things seem to go well. With my m/c I was still in the 200's closer to 6 weeks.
Hoping all will work out for you! Fingers crossed for a good beta result next time, one that puts your mind at ease!!

Ginasgemz - I think that ignorance is bliss and wish I didn't even know I was pregnant so that I would stop analysing and panicing over every little spot or twinge.

Www.betabase.info has a HUGE database of hcg results by dpo!

I got a bfp at 8dpo, hcg 50 at 11dpo and 195 at 13dpo and 4750 at 20dpo. Squiggle implanted at 4dpo so my numbers started rising early.

When you have your repeat tests done, as long as the numbers rise by 66% or more you're ok...so your 50 should go up to more than 83 (and I'm sure it will).

Hi Hunnybear,
I had an odd start with my HCG levels that you might be able to relate to.

Thu - 13DPO very very faint +ve on preg test. HCG 60. Clinic (we had IVF) said 60 bit low, so tested again 48hrs later, they wanted it to double by then)

Sat - HCG 60 again!! Clinic again not happy with this, gave us bleak outlook, could be bio-chem preg etc etc. Test again on Tue.

Tue - HCG 175. Clinic happy with this and confirmed viable pregnancy

Mon (the next wk) - HCG 3002. All ok!

I have since gone on to have a 6wk scan and all is well. :)

Clinic said that is may have been a late and slow implantation, hence the HCG levels a bit slow to get rising.
I know the waiting is horrendous, but stay positive. All you can do it get your HCG checked every 48hrs or so to see if still rising. Ideally they should double, but as you can see from mine, that doesn't always happen to start with! HCG of 54 on 12DPO isn't far off what mine was. 13DPO I was 60. There is definate hope!

Keep us posted hun.

xx

I had hcg 642 at 15/16dpo this time round. Last pregnancy I was around 350 at 5 weeks (21dpo) pregnant so it can vary a lot even in the same person.

In general you are pregnant if your hcg is above 5 though they will usually only say so if it is above 25. More important is the doubling time which should be about 48h initially and once hcg is above 1000 it tends to double more slowly (this also varies though)

Your levels sound fine for 12dpo!

mine were 62 @ 14DPO, then 350 @ 17DPO. I believe everyone's different. Betabase.info saved my sanity during the time of testing. Best of luck!

:hugs: to all you ladies!!! I'm staying positive as it seems there's a huge amount of variety of ranges from what I can see! I think that because it's a fertility clinic and they deal with so many miscarriages and problem pregnancies they are probably just trying to not get my hopes up but I'm sure this is a sticky bean, I think my only reason for infertility was not ovulating and clomid helped that the first time around. Silly clinic, don't they realize that once you get a positive as an expectant mother your hopes are up regardless and it's not just an embryo but your baby in there!

Going for beta tomorrow mornig and should have results by later in the day. Will keep you all posted.

A couple of other things though. I've been getting pain in my buttocks and tailbone. I thought it was strange to get physical pain so early on. Anyone else know about this? Plus getting very light pink CM constantly. Anyone else get this?

I had very lower backpain at the very beginning of pregnancy.

I had +hpt at 10dpo
11dpo Tinged cm when I wiped
12 dpo hcg of 86 (the dr sounded like it was a horrible number and that I probably wasnt pregnant)

14 dpo - when I went in for the 2nd blood test the nurse saw my first hcg # and said "your not pregnant" I was devastated! The dr called me back that afternoon and said my hcg was 249 and prog. was 22.2 (above 20 is usually good he said) So I WAS pregnant

That dr had me set up my first appt for 6 weeks.... but he was booked up so the receptionist had me see another dr. When I went to see him (dh was with me) he laughed at us. He wanted to know why we were there... and then he said he didnt think I had a viable pregancy as my numbers were so low. He then said I could have a blighted ovum. So again - devastated! Well he never called back with my new blood work that he made me do - so I called and talked to a nurse. She felt horrible about what I told her the dr said... cause my #'s were over 60,000 by then.

Don't lose hope..... until you know 100% that its over .... dr's dont know everything.... and numbers don't mean everything either. Megan is no blighted ovum!

I am beginning to think that doctors don't usually see people til they are further on in their pregnancies. I am sure they have all seen many miscarriages and perhaps that is why they say what they do, but really so early on in pregnancy I would always just hold out and wait.

There is a study done on www.misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com that shows that bhcg at 16dpo can be an indicator for a successful pregnancy - if it is above 500 you are almost guaranteed a successful pregnancy, less than 50 at that stage and you have a 75% chance of miscarriage - but even then there is a chance. And if levels double every 48h then they are expanding very very rapidly.

Good luck to all of you waiting for further results - the waiting can be killing, but its great when you get good result after the waiting.
