Ok so technically it may have been a complete accident:blush:... but Max was quite hapilly chatting away last night and all of a sudden there it was, a crystal clear 'daddy'! My OH is now determined that this will be his first proper word and the poor little man must be fed up of him repeating 'dada' to him hourly

But I am one proud mummy! :happydance:

Just wondered if this could actually be Max starting to say daddy, or is he a tad to young for that?!

Thank u all x x x x

AWWWW how sweet!

I know its not really 'talking', but when Jasper is really messy miserable he wails "muuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmm muuuuuuuuuuummmmmmm" OKay, he's 4 months old, its not a word... but... it does give my OH a GREAT excuse to hand him over :dohh: "he's crying for you!" :dohh:

Also, dont burst your OH's bubble, but 'dad' 'dadda' and 'daddy' are really normal experimental sounds that babies make. 'da' is developmentally a very 'normal' syllabel for babies to start saying clearly.

But they do suss that it means their daddy pretty quickly, no clue how long it takes, but they do work out in the very least that the sound 'dadda' gets a GREAT reaction from mum, dad and bystnaders, so they'll keep doing it... and then put the dots together... and go.... "hey, you, dad, your 'dadda'!"

But, dont tell him! Its nicer for him to think that LO is saying it on purpose!

ALSO, apart from wailing and crying, 'mu' is a harder sylable to pronounce, so it might take a little longer to hear it, so dont feel sad if he's saying "dadda" clearly and not even trying to say "mumma"

awww congratulations :) sounds like the start of talking to me :D

Thank you very much its very helpful!! And i'll leave OH to think hes doing it purposely and hey, it gives me the excuse to say 'he wants you' when hes wailing :happydance::rofl:
xxx

Hannah started with dada but she never seemed to connect the two, not yet at least. Than she did mama and she does seem to connect that with me when she's upset and wants me she says mamamamama. Now we hear mostly babababa. Congratulations!! He won't stop talking now ;)
