Does anyone use a heart monitor as part of their work outs to monitor calories burnt, bpm, recovery time etc? I was thinking of getting one and wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good one that's a reasonable price? :)

I recommend Polar.

I had the FT4 (Amazon £50.21) but wanted to know if I was in the right zone for fitness or fat burning so splashed out and bought the FT7 (£65.41).

The only difference between the M(ale) and F(emale) is the M is a bigger watch and strap.

Thanks, I'll have a look into that one and maybe get one for my birthday later on in the year :D

I got the FT4 (only because there was a significant price between that one and the F7 on amazon.de).

I did have a cheap one from lidl (lol) and the difference between them in quite remarkable. With the cheap one I'd burn (apparently) 300 cals on 30 day shred, but the FT4 would say only 180-200. I think it's very accurate if you set it up right. The thing that goes round your chest is quite comfortable too, you barely know it's there.
