Hi There,

Just wondering if anyone wants to share their baby's heart rate from their early ultrasound. I had mine on Monday and the heart rate was 173! According to the gender myth, that would mean I'm having a girl! My sister tells me her little boy's heart rate was 180 at the beginning so I'm not putting much stalk into it. Thanks in advance for sharing. Pictures are also welcome!

I had my first ultrasound yesterday and the heartrate was 180, which I thought was crazy high. The doctor told me that its completely normal, and could also just be from me freaking out before it! haha

Mine was 183 at 8w5d. I thought it was really high but no one batted an eyelash. I don't know sex yet, but have felt strongly it's a girl.

My scan at 8 weeks 5 days was also 183bpm :) DH is positive we will have a girl lol. I was also scared it was too high but the sonographer said it was normal, and my friend who is also a sonographer said it was perfect so I'm not worried :)

With my first one, her heart rate was consistently around 150s.

And this time, from the first u/s, the heart rate was 163, I'm convinced im having another girl lol

Heart rate was 176 at my 8 weeks scan, and has not dropped below 154. I am having a girl. :cloud9:

DD:
7w 1d: 180
9w 5d: 190
15W: 172
19w 5d: 175

DS:
6W 5D: 139
11w 1d: 177
15w 5d: 150
19w 1d: 153

I had a scan at 7 weeks and heart rate was 154 :)

They don't tell us the heart rate here. I've had 5 scans and not been told once lol, I did ask at my last scan but she said they don't look so waiting til I can hear it on the doppler :)

:flow:

At 7+3 ours was 158bpm, what's the gender myth about heartbeat?

At 7+3 ours was 154bpm. I've had 2 NHS scans since and they've told me that they don't measure the hb. I have a private scan in 2 weeks time, so I'm hoping they can tell me then. I also be finding out the sex, so if it proves the theory right, I'll let you know :) My and my OH have a feeling that it's a little girl but we shall she x

Below 140 is a boy and Above 140 is a girl. I have done a lot of research on this and it's not the best way to determine gender. It is fun though to see how many of these midwife tales are true for you. Most of them are usually wrong for me.

Me too, including this one :)

Thanks for all the replies ladies!! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with a fast HB at the first scan. I just can't want to see how it changes!

Mine was 175 at 8w6d but he said that its always high then and drops down a little in coming weeks. It dropped to 165 and remains 160-168 each time I go every two weeks!

Here in the UK I've had a nhs scan and private and both didn't measure heart rate they said as long as we can see the flickers we don't measure, so I hoping to find out on the Doppler xx

Got a scan at 8w0d, hb was 169. My best friend got hers done 8w5d, hers was 167.

Mine at 8w1d was 174bpm. The gender/heart rate thing is really just a myth, the rate changes during pregnancy: https://pregnancy.about.com/od/genderpredictions1/ss/genderfht.htm

at 8 wks and 6 days, my baby girl's heartbeat was 174 bpm. at every appointment thereafter from 12 weeks and on it's been consistently 157-165 bpm.
