This may sound silly, but how do you heat the bottles?
What temperature does the milk need to be?

a bottle wamer of in water, chloe is happy to have hers at room temp so, now shes in a routine and I know when she'll want it I can get it out the fridge and in the warmer or in a sink of water 30 mins before she'll want it

We use a bottle warmer. Hannah likes her bottles to be room temp. If they are any cooler/warmer she tends to scream

We never used the bottle warmer so we returned it.

To heat our bottles we prepare the bottle then put it in a cup of hot water for a few minutes and try swirling it a few times. Another way is to hold it under the faucet while running the hot water. Never heat a bottle in the microwave because it won't heat evenly and may be too hot in some spots and still cool in others. I wouldn't worry about heating to a specific temperature, just feel it for warmth. Our childcare class teacher said to put a dab on your wrist and you shouldn't feel it - thus not too hot or too cold.

we use the microwave at home now-just shake well to get rid of any hot spots and test on wrist to check the temperature.

keely.

To be honest I wish I hadnt bothered buying a bottle warmer as it seemed to take ages to actually warm the milk from the fridge and it seems even longer when you have a crying hungry baby!!

We discovered that Rebecca likes her milk room temperature so what we do is fill her bottles with cooled boiled water and leave them out on the work surface and then add the powder as required so they are still getting made up fresh.

If you do want to warm them then I would fill a flask with boling water and use that in a jug to warm or just boil the kettle when required and test on the inside of your wrist, it should be warmed through

i heat the bottles in the microwave and so do a lot of other people. As long as you give the bottle a really good shake to get rid of the hot spots before feeding baby it will be fine.

During the day I put the bottle in the microwave for 40seconds, which is perfect. I test it on my wrists too see if it is too hot or too cold. If it's warm its fine.

At night, I use a bottle warmer, and I do the same - Test it on my wrists to see if is warm.

I use the microwave ... Brooke needs her milk warm for her meds to dissolve into the milk. 20-30 seconds then i obv give it a good old stir because im adding meds to it anyway.

i pop maddi's bottles in a jug of boiled water, and then test it on my wraist, have got a bottle warmer but have never used it since switching from avent to mam's when maddi was 6weeks x

I use a Lindam bottle warmer for the morning bottles....only takes a few minutes.......all her other bottles i make from fresh

Either microwave, bottle warmer or from a flask of hot water.

We used to stand her bottles in hot water to warm them but now they go in the microwave

i used to use jugs of hot water but i use microwave now. make sure its shaken well before feeding =]
x

glad you asked this cos I was wondering too. I've started heating them in the microwave when I dont' make them up fresh. I just make sure I give them a really good shake up and test them on my wrist.

I use to boil water for max when i made his bottles heat up ..but after him screaming while the bottle heated I used the microwave for 20 seconds :) it came out room temp

I only ever warm bottles when I'm out and use the cartons but I just put mine in a jug of hot water, and it only takes a few mins. I just test it on the inside of my wrist and give it to Seren when it feels just a little warm. I was given a bottle warmer but never used it, too much faffing about with the same result as a free jug of water!
