Hi everyone! So I guess I will be spending more time in this forum from now on learning about what happens next! Some info on me, Dh and I have been trying since Oct'08, we got pregnant in April last year but it ended in a miscarriage. Since then we have had no luck and with it being a year and a bit since the MC we have decided its time to head to the doctors and see what happens next. Something I have been dreading , I am sure you all can relate, never thought it would come to that.

It upsets me a lot, I really thought I would be pregnant by now, I never for once thought it would be this hard:cry: And of course it worries me greatly that this journey may have more bumps in the road.

I plan to head to my docs next month, I am nervous as I don't know what to expect, I was wondering if some of you ladies might shed some light on what happens next, where it goes from here. Thank you so much, I hope to make some friends here, support one another. :flower:

Hi Jasmin,

Your doctor may handle it differently, but in most cases they'll want your partner to do a semen analysis, test you to see if you're ovulating on your own, and probably and HSG to see if your tubes are open. They may also do a check on your ovarian reserve, which basically looks at the quality of your eggs.

Depending on the results, your doctor may prescribe clomid, IUI, IVF or other. It's scary taking the first step, but it is better to know if you have any issues. It also feels great to have a little help if necessary.

Good luck!

welcome over here sweety!.....hope you dont stay too long and your in first tri very soon!
xxx good luck at the doctors, they will help you as much as they can! :hugs:

Thank you for the kind words ladies! I must admit that I am a bit nervous. And lately its been really getting to me, I have been an emotional wreck since AF came, I knew then that I would have to pay the doctor's office a visit.

I am glad I found this part of the forum, I was on the TTC forum since I joined, I am sure I will learn more as I read on. Best of luck to you both and everyone trying!
