Help advice needed - just ate out of date cake!

I didn't realise but I just had a HUGE piece of chocolate cake (like nearly half of a whole big one...), then saw the date on it and it's out of date by 3 days. I feel sick now but don't know if that's cos I just noticed the date on it, do you think I've hurt my baby? Will I get food poisoning? I'm so scared! I am due this Monday!

if you get food poisoning from cake i will be shocked! dont worry love, shop bought cakes have nothing in that will cause sickness out of date - will just make the cake taste like shit. x

I eat out of date food all the time. As long as it doesn't smell, look or taste off it will be fine. Actually, even if it tasted stale it would prob be fine.

yea theres a couple of days leyway on dates
NOT LAW BUT I HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP BY THIS MOTTO
sell by date :then that gives u 3 days after iah
use by date :usually a couple of days (wouldnt really trust it if fresh meat i usually freeze it if close to date)
best by: it is best by this date (taste at optimum) but ok after

If it wasn't mouldy and taste vile you'll be fine

It's use by dates you really need to adhere to, best before dates are simply that - it won't taste as good afterwards. And I'm sure cake will have a best before date not a use by date. You'll be fine.

I eat loads of food thats out of date all the time. Dont worry you'll be fine from only 3 days. Ive just found some Frostie's Cola Cubes in my huge sweetie tin that went out of dat in 2009 LMAO but they taste normal
