Help! Any idea for a smart oufit for a lil boy?

We are going out for christmas dinner on the 14th december with my hubbys family, to a really posh hotel. (god knows why - we'll be like a fish out of water!) anyway, i want my lil man whos nearly 3, to look really smart, and cute, but not over the top. Has anyone get any suggestions, or any links to websites that i can have a nosey through.

I was thinking shirt, trousers, waistcoat type thing, does that sound ok? In a size 3-4.
