My lo is almost 3 weeks old and has suffered from colic, I've switched to the dr brown air vented bottles and she seems a bit better for it but she's still really windy and farts a lot, she's currently bottle fed on Cow and gate and was considering switching to aptamil. Has anyone done this and found it helpful?

I have started with aptamil and it was really BAD - my friend's babies too and they had bad reflux so she changed to SMA and they are better now, we are on hipp organic and it is great! my son used to have bad wind and now it is literally disappeared! every baby is different tho...

also - we changed to mam anti colic bottles and they are awesome!

We have recently switched to Aptamil from C&G and have had no problems. I'm not sure if that is what solved Jack's wind, or whether it is the Infacol.

Aptamil and Cow & gate are actually exactly the same product. I've read that a lot on this forum and when my son had to go to the hospital last week (for something completely unrelated) and needed a bottle this was confirmed by the peadatrition.

Thanks ladies, yea I googled about that but apparently the quality of ingredients is of a higher standard than in C&G which is why it often sits better with babies even though it is the same recipe so I may still give it a shot, I'm getting desperate!

Yeah there are some slight differences to them - worth a try.

My doctor said not to change the formula - it's not good to suddenly switch it so they've suggested I try the cow and gate comfort, I'm of little faith this will help tbh

My LO has the comfort milk. It's worked wonders for him, although he has it more for constipation issues than colic. He only used to poo once a week max. now he goes every day and he seems to bring his wind up quicker and doesn't pass wind quite so often.

Oh that sounds promising then at least, guess it will take a few days for it to take effect anyway and I've bought the colocynth granules do fingers crossed!

I'm sure I read/heard somewhere that it can take up to two weeks to see a difference. When I changed it took about ten days before my LO started opening his bowels regularly so give it at least two weeks to work it's magic :winkwink:
