(Useless mum and nurse of the year here!)

My son had his dinner (scrambled egg and toast) at 5pm. By 6pm he had a really bad runny, very smelly nappy so showered him. Gave him his usual feed at 7 but struggled to wind him so gave him infacol which helped. But 10 minutes later he threw up everywhere. He has thrown up 5 times since (now small amounts but still retching) this isnthr bad bit...I checked the infacol bottle and expiry is Jan 2015!!!!

I'm not sure if its the dinner, if he has a bug or the infacol. really don't want NHS to have a go for being a bloody useless nurse and giving out of date medicine. Would you phone NHS 24???

Sounds like a bug to me ... I wOuldnt worry too much I'd say within 24-48 hours he will be back to himself x

Don't be too hard on yourself. I know I've definitely done silly things!.
I agree with it being a bug hopefully one of the 24 hour ones. Hope he feels better soon !

Out of date Infacol won't hurt him. Sounds like a bug. Has he eaten egg before?

I though expiry dates were to ensure medicine was still effective, not to indicate it will become toxic.

The foul smelling nappy makes me think he already had a bug.

Thanks ladies. Yip, it's a bug. Been throwing up all night and still is this morning. He's also got a rash and fever so thinking viral infection. Was an emotional wreck last night and freaked out but new fine lol. Xxx

Thank you. He's been super clingy today, just wanted held and to play with my hair lol. Gone down to bed with calpol for his temp but seems a little better. Hope he's better soon x
