LO wants barbie campervan for xmas, luckily she has cut her list down by half but I do not wanna spend £95 on this. My budget left for her is only £70, what could I do? I swear xmas is financially stressing me out plus I dont really wanna buy this as I have sorted her list out now. Im so stressed xx

keep and eye it may come down a little more :flower:

I personally would not spend this sort of money either way on a piece of plastic, even if it is on her list. have you seen the Barbie mega bloks camper van? Not so much a toy to play with with her dolls but could be a lot of fun :flower:

I know not the camper van, but my friend has bought this for her daughter. It is on 3 for 2 Barbie at the moment also and if you use the code BIRTHDAY7 you get it for £34.99 also it is really big and impressive too

If you have relatives buying gifts for her you could ask them to pool together for it (I've done this before). Or keep an eye out on eBay/Facebook selling pages, lots of things go on there in immaculate condition :)

I would maybe go with something cheaper but similar toptrump has some great ideas there and agree about keeping an eye out for Facebook selling pages etc. My LO wants a fireman minion teddy at around £40-£50 but I'll either buy it with survey vouchers if I have any left when finished shopping or I'll buy him the figure instead

oh thanks that looks well better! :happydance: Might get this then, see if she likes it tommorow online will show her the photo.

This one is £77 but I had a look on camelcamelcamel and it has been down at £43.

Maybe you could set up a price alert for it?

My daughter pointed the van out in the Smyths toy book, I think it's so overpriced!
Even the pictures make it look flimsy.

I think I'll just wait & hope she starts wanting something else. (usually once the christmas toy adverts start)

Maybe sell some of the things she doesn't play with anymore? That's what I tend to do each year, and the money usually goes towards their gift fund for the holidays.

The barbie glam camper van went down to £64.99 this morning. x

Why would it not be ok? I wanted to get Oliver some mega bloks. Prob one set see how he gets on, however due to car boot sales andbFacebook selling site I have a truck with extras, a train, a wagon and a huge bag for under £10. Means have more budget to get other bits.

It's a shame you're not in Lincolnshire an old friend of my family has set up a fb page selling new toys at a discounted price. Unsure if they post. Could always ask. Selling camper for £55

As long as the item is in good condition kids don't have a clue if something is second hand. Our 3 year old has asked for bullseye from toystory for Xmas, it's £40! I'm not spending £40 on a horse lol I'm searching eBay, then I'll put it in a box decorated with nice Xmas paper and he will be thrilled.

Barbie toys are stupidly expensive and you are paying for the brand, because they have been around for years customers put their trust in the brand and don't think twice but actually the quality of barbie toys isn't fantastic. We picked up the barbie cruise ship in a sale at toys r us for £35 and every time they play with it I am worried it will fall apart it feels so flimsy

I agree, especially when they are younger they have no clue that they aren't new, nor do they care. I've already bought several toys from mommies in my neighborhood on our FB selling site that I'm using for Christmas gifts. They'll get wrapped up pretty, and the boys won't be the wiser. They'll just be thrilled to get those toys they like:)

yay argos have it for £63.29 today so sent my OH to get it and me and my mum are splitting the costs so £30 odd each :D xx
