help me and OH choose a name please?! (welsh names)

We're really struggling to choose a name for our little girly. It's going to be a welsh name because I'm welsh and OH has lived in wales most of his life. our favourites are.. Ela, Efa, Non, Beca, Eila, Lena, Enid, Fflur, Lili, Lona, Mali, Nel, Siwan. Thanks in advance xx

I think you have a lot of lovely choices there.

However I would avoid 'Non'. I don't know how it's pronounced but in Latin it means 'not' or 'nothing'. I think that could get a little confusing.

I like the others but for some reason I particularly like 'Fflur'.

I guess you could keep a list and then decide when baby is here, see what fits her.

I'm not sure how to pronounce some of those, so it depends on how they are pronounced-How do you pronounce Ela? I like Lili, and Lena and Ela, pronounced with a hard E or the soft E

I agree to stay away from Non, which also means "no" in French, too much negative meaning! I like Beca, Eila, and Lena the best!

Thanks girls ela is pronounced like ella, lili like lily. All the ones that start with an e are prounced like eh (really hard to explain isn't it lol!) I take your point with Non thanks houswife83, OH has said the same and he's not keen on the name because of that so don't think we'll be using that one! Xxx

Awh Welsh names are soo beautiful! I like Ela, Fflur, Lili and Mali the best, though they're all lovely.

I like Mali and Nel. Not keen on Lona if it's pronounced 'loner' , just because of the lonely connotation?

We had a welsh name on our list - Adaryn, which means bird.

They are lovely hun, i like Mali! we gave my daughter the welsh version of her name and will be choosing a welsh name next time!! I love Ffion and Carys xx

i think efa sounds a bit like heffa so would advoid that one if it was me choosing. i like ela. how do you pronounce eila? that one looks like it might be pretty

I like Mali. We named dd Medi (September) and if ds had been a girl then he'd of been called lilli-wen mai!
