I've just got a massive bundle of Mother Ease one size nappies from an NCT sale. These are my first cloth purchase and bought really coz they were such a great deal.
They are the cloth nappies and a cloth liner inside poppered onto the front.

Are they really absorbent like this? I'm new to this so I find it hard to believe the liquid won't just go straight through.

Anyone used these or other Terry style nappies and have any advice? I think I need to buy wraps. Is that right? How Many will I need? Do I need to use paper liners every time?

Please help! Thank you so much!

I think the ones with the poppered in insert are ok absorbency wise, but you might need to boost them as LO gets older.

You will need to buy wraps. Probably 4 is a good number but it depends how often you want to wash really. How many nappies do you have? I would probably get 1 wrap for every 4-5 nappies you have.

You don't need to use a liner at all if you don't want to. I personally really dislike paper liners. We use fleece liners in nappies that don't have a stay dry layer, to keep LO dry.

Thanks. So what do the paper bits do? Stop the wetness going onto baby's skin? So i guess mine dont have a stay dry bit. Ive not seen other types of nappy. Where do u get fleece liners and boosters from? Can u get any make as long as they fit or so they have to attach?

Oh and do I have to get compatible wraps or any kind? Much appreciated! I feel so clueless but want to get the hang of this

Paper liners really just make disposal of solids easier. Some are flushable so you just chuck them down the loo, some need to go in the bin like a disposable nappy would. I found them really useless for a young baby, as young babies' poo is so liquid that it goes everywhere and gets under/around the liner anyway.

Fleece liners are thicker so don't tend to scrunch up a bit and catch poo a bit better, but still aren't amazing at catching young baby poo. You can buy them from loads of online shops or you can just chop up a fleece blanket into rectangles that will cover the main part of the nappy.

I've just had a look at the Motherease website and you can apparently get a few different kinds of the snap in boosters you have. One option does include a stay dry layer, so you wouldn't need fleece to keep baby dry in that case. Maybe have a look here - https://usshop.motherease.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=19&cat=Snap+In+Absorbent+Liners%99 - and see if you can spot which ones you have!

I think most wraps would be fine over them. You could always ask on here whether people have tried different combinations, or just google it! Motherease do make their own wraps (an Airflow wrap and a Rikki wrap) that will definitely work though. You can see which sizes of wraps will work here - https://www.mother-ease.com/cloth-diapers/Product_Compatibility_Chart

I used to have motherease one-size nappies and they are small nappies so any wrap goes over them really. I like tots bots and nature babies personally. Some nappies you have to be careful with if they have a high rise for example or are very wide at the crotch as that would affect what wraps fit over them.

I have the motherease one size - best wraps are the motherease rikki for me, as I find the airflow mark LO's legs. They will need boosting eventually, but not for several months if your LO is like mine. Personally I wouldn't bother with the snap in boosters, buy some little lamb terry boosters or some other cheap reliable terry booster - the pop in ones are expensive and not very good and they come off in the wash anyway, so I have to popper the wretched things back in all the time.
