Hellooo, I always come crawling back here when I inevitably ovver confuse myself lol
Anyway, just a quick question that's been doing my brain an injury.
If a job is advertised as paying "£18000 pa pro rata for 16 hours a week" what is that saying?
I know 'pro rata' means by the rate, so if a company counts full time as 30 hours and you work 16 then you get that proportion of th yearly wage. BUT in this particular advert does this company mean it is pro rata based on 16 hours or you will get the 16 hour proportion iykwim?
Im sorry if that made no sense, my brain hurts

Thanks in advance xx

It means £18000 is the full time salary. So if the company says 30 hours is full time, and the job is for 16 hours, you divide the salary by 30 and multiply the answer by 16.

:flow:

Thank you :)
Just confused me because of the way it was worded. Thank you! :D
xxx

No prob. It's stupid really anyway, they do it to make the pay sound better
