Jenna is 6 weeks old she was a bf baby but due to having a low birth weight(5lbs 6oz) she was demanding feeds all the time and was never satisfied so with the advice of the midwifes i put her on bottles. So from a week old she has been on Sma gold which seemed to do the trick in the beging taking anything from 1oz - 2 oz now she weighs 7lbs 8oz and is taking 3oz most feeds. Usually she has been every 4 hours but in the last few days shes been a nightmare demanding feeds every 1.5hours-2 hours takes a hour to settle her so shes only sleeping for an hour if that- and never been satisfied she gulps down the bottles i tried to up the feed to 4 oz but she doesnt take it. Tried sma white but that was even worse. Shes now not winding aswell as she used to i have tried infacol and gripe water which worked in the begining and shes been getting really bad constapation!! Now my question is i have been looking at Aptamil and they have the easy digest milk i was wondering if this would be better for her or just the normal aptamil milk?

Thanks in advance for any replys! i just dont know what to do!!!

6 weeks is a textbook age to have a growth spurt, 2-3 day periods where your LO will want to eat more. IMO, a 6 week old baby should be offered a feed every 3 hours, and if they want to eat every 2 hours I would just go with it for now, you'll find as she puts on weight and starts to take more at each feed, she'll go longer between feeds in both day and night. The more milk you can get into her during the day, the less hungry she will be at night :)

So basically I would ditch the SMA white, gripe water and Infacol and just go with what her natural feeding pattern is at the moment, using the SMA gold.

Spooky! My LO Ruby is 6 weeks old and has been the same for the past 2 days. I think she is having a growth spurt. It could be thats why Jenna is being fussy and demanding feeding more regularly.
I would be reluctant to change feed again cause i think that cause problems in itself. I would stick with the sma gold and try riding it out for a few days, see if its a growth spurt.
