help... now only going 1 to 2 hrs between feeds

We had been feeding EBM up until 2days a go where we switched to FF. With EMB she was having roughly 4oz every 3 to 4 hrs. For th past 2 days and nights she has been on sma gold but only taking 2 to 3 oz but every 2 to 3 hrs during th day and last night she wok
e every hour. It is not confort sucking as she does not was a dummy or want to be cuddled...it is milk sh is after

i am all out of ideas on how to get her back to going longer netween feeds. I know formula is harder to digest than breast milk.. Are any formulas better than others. Wondering if i should try something other than sma???

I've always thought of SMA Gold as quite a creamy/thick milk. So maybe she is just adjusting to it being a lot different to the ebm? Aptimil is quite thin milk, C&G not so much. I think SMA is the thickest/creamiest iykwim. Why did you choose SMA out of interest?

If I were you I wouldn't focus on 'getting her to go longer between feeds' just yet. I'm assuming from your ticker that she's only a few weeks old and so still getting to grips with life on the outside, going through the early growth spurts and settling down with hre new milk.

I would personally switch to C&g as its cheaper and not as thick. She might take more milk each time that way and get settled a bit quicker. gl!

Last night could have been a one off or possibly a growth spurt?

My LO was drinking roughly the same amount in the same time increments at that age but he did start to go longer between feeds a week or two later.

I'd be careful switching formulas as it can take a while for their bodies to adjust to the new formula.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the time between feeds yet either. It is tiring, but it's a lot easier and generally healthier to feed on demand. If you think that she is sick, then take her to a doctor. Other then that it could just be a normal part of development.
