I recently started my 7 week old on 5oz of cow n gate n he was fine with it for 1st few days finishing most of his bottle but since wednesday hes only having 2-3oz n wont have any more then will throw up most of it or fall asleep half way through. Any advice would be appreciated x

in regards to falling asleep in the middle of feeding i tend to give baby half the bottle then change their bum as i find that wakes them up then give the rest of the bottle. babies tend to go through a stage of eating loads then will reduce in the amount they feed, i wouldnt worry about it as baby will let you no if he needs or wants anymore. with the being sick prehaps burp more often and if he is havinbg trouble bringing up his wind which is leading him to throw it up try infacol as it helps them bring their wind up. xxx

Thanks for the reply. Im giving him infacol at the moment and it does help bring up the wind and I also change his nappy half way through a feed, it does wake him up but he wont drink the milk after. Im still using the stage 1 teet do you think i should change it to stage 2?

I dont think you need to change teats yet, you'll end up making him sickier :(

Just give him 1 or 2 oz at a time and wind him inbetween. As for taking more, if he doesnt want it just leave him be, he'll let you know when he wants more

I'd say at 7 weeks try changing the teat size, my boy was on size 2 teats at 4-5 weeks and size 3 at 10 weeks, and he was the same when he needed to change :) hth

Thanks for the advice, my lil boy stops drinking himself after 1 or 2 oz n thats when i wind him.

Might be worth you trying vari flow teats hun. I put my dd on them when she was 3 weeks old, other wise she wasnt get much in the way of milk, as she just fell asleep on every feed. You will possibly need to stop and wind a bit more often though, but changing teats helped with feeding and wind.
