HELP!! Potassium Citrate while TTC?

I have a history of kidney stones and my doctor wants to put me on Potassium Citrate to prevent them.. he told me it would be safe to taking while TTC and while pregnant, but looking online it says to let doctor know if your ttc or pregnant and some websites say to not take it while pregnant.. I'm confused. Any one have any idea if this is safe or not?
