Help wanted for xmas day

Ok so here goes we normally go to my parents one year then Oh's the next.

With this year being Lo's first i really dont no what to do, My parents dont drive and live the complete other side of town so would have no way of getting to see Lo on xmas day, but if i got Oh to take us other there he would want to drive to his mums aswell and we would end up there like almost all day! When Oh's parents drive.

I dont want Lo to be out and about all day on his first xmas, also we have no room in our house to have everyone round at once or for dinner.


Im so stuck for ideas

i thought about that the thing is in our living room we just fit a 2seater sofa and a chair for my pc desk lol and in the kitchen is no room for a table to sit at really aswell as the dog being in there.. We have loads of stuff in our living room but no where to move it to, to put more seats or a table in here, i mean we have our sofa, 2 desks, 2 fish tanks, my bookcase and the tv unit and of course all the baby things.

Oh's family that we would see would be his mum, dad and sister

My family would be my mum,dad and brother

No chance of fitting 9 of us in total into my house

Well we are planning on going round to OH parents house in the morning and then round to my relatives for xmas dinner. Then we will spend boxing day at his house. Its a difficult one though xoxo

Hun why not just say this xmas you are spending it at home? Just you, oh & baby?
Your own 1st family xmas?
Fair enough if you WANT to see family, then why not visit one xmas eve & the other boxing day?

I was about to post pretty much exactly the same question.... my mam and dad live in Newcastle and I live in Leeds (as do matts parents) so a good 100 miles. We used to do the same as you, one parents one year, others the next. But with this year, we're going to be in our nice new house, and Seth might actually have a clue whats going on.

Also the other thing is is that my little brother (9) is spoilt absolutely rotten and I don't want Seth growing up thinking he doesn't get as much iykwim. Because even if I cpould afford the amount my mam and dad buy my bro, I wouldn't do it. It's actually disgusting and embarrasing.

Anyway this year we're going up on boxing day for a few days, and Im just going to say 'if you want to be with us, we've plenty of room for you all'. That way it's their problem if they don't want to come lol

The only problem I have is I don't know how to tell OH that I don't want to see his family on xmas day either lol

Very difficult situation hun, but Im sure people would understand you wanting to be at home at your baby's first christmas

We are doing the same as last year.. Waking up at our home. Going down the road to mil for a few hours... Then over my mums for dinner. I'm pretty lucky though as we all live within 10 minutes of eachother. Hope u get it sorted Hun x

I think im going to tell OH, morning home, then off to my parents for 2hours since they dont drive, then come home and if his parents want to see us, they can come to us since they drive

my dilema is similar but throw in another 15 family members into the mix!
