ok so planning on getting married next year but have just had a baby whos is now 5 months old. im just looking for advice and help with ideas etc.

so far i have venue which includes dj, sit down meal for 50 wine and champers £999
my dress £170
4 x Bridesmade dresses £70 each
hire suits from debenhams £60 each
deposit for church £50

now im stuck...... xx

ask someone with a nice car to use that on the day as your wedding car

if you can't afford a photographer then ask all your guests to take pictures and get them put onto a disk for yourself, i am sure you will have 1 or 2 friends with decent cameras so you will get some lovely shots

don't do favour's if you can't afford them

Invites - we got some really beautiful ones hand made from someone on ebay and they were very reasonable

Make your own 'order of service' sheets for the church

have a friend help with make up & hair

sounds like your doing well so far, the deal you have for your venue is amazing,

Use fairy lights as a way of making it really magical looking.

Collect jars, clean them and put tea lights and glitter in. Use these as centre pieces. Tie ribbons around the tops to make them themed.

If you know someone who is a cake maker, ask if they can do the cake or buy 3 from M&S and just pay for them to be decorated.

Borrow jewellery from someone - can be your something borrowed.

If you want to do favours, make truffles at home - Nigella has a great recipe.

If you want flowers, make sure you get ones that are in season.

Thats what we are doing for our cake- 3 tier from m&s then my mum is going to decorate it for us :)

Dont bother with loads of flowers - look pretty but at end of the day, not something people will remember so waste of money really. Also, button holes can be expensive and you can make your own with a nice bunch or carnations or roses from tesco with a bit of fern and tin foil. Brides maids flowers dont need to be OTT - mine had three white roses each and it looked lovely.

ebay ebay ebay for things like veil, shoes (find the ones you want in shop, try them then order of ebay) head dress etc

you can make your own invites for very little money (compared to the cost of buying them)

Cake - the M&S cakes are supposed to be nice. its a cake FFS, no one remembers it.

if you want to get your hair done professionally at a hair dressers in the morning, tell them you're going to a ball/dinner party thing - saying wedding doubles the price

Oh as someone else said, if you really want favours, make them yourself - a friend went to a wedding and said the best favour she ever had was home made ginger bread men. she remembers the favour when she cant recall what she had at other weddings and they are cheap to make

For photographer perhaps see if a uni student would be willing to do them for you. They get work experience and you aren't having to fork out as much as you would with a qualified photographer. This is our plan if the photographer at dfs work can't do our photos.

Cake see if a family friend or even yourself can make one. I have a friend who is fab at making cakes so going to try and get tips from her and make one myself (will get lots of practise in before then though lol).

Invites I'm making myself bought the cards just need to print off the inserts for them.

Flowers buy fake ones instead of real ones much cheaper and you andf your bridemaids have something to keep to remember the day by. x
