I've been breastfeeding and am trying to introduce LO formula too. So far I've tried SMA, Cow and Gate, Heinz Nurture, Aptamil, HIPP and he will not take any of them! He screams and clamps his mouth shut. He will take EBM from a bottle so I know it isn't the bottle that's the problem.
What else can I try? Any ideas would be very welcome.

My friends who r bfing r using Nan Gold or quiqoze frm Nestle. The consistency of quiqoze is similar to the breast milk.

My LO is on Aptamil - milupa but he is only FF.

i dont think we get that here,

what temprature are you trying it at hun?

i have read on here before that the aptamil is ment to be closest taste wise to breaast milk (not sure who or how they worked that one out)

are you giving powdered or cartons? that could make a diff as well as the milk in cartons is slightly thicker than the stuff you make up yourself

Thanks for your help ladies.

nmwb78 - never heard of Nan Gold or quiqoze from Nestle. As Suzib said, not sure that we get that in the UK.

Suzib - I've been trying it at room temperature and then, today, tried warming them up. I've been using the cartons for everything except HIPP as I think that only comes in a powder.
LO did drink some aptamil, from a carton at room temp., the other day but has refused it point blank since! LO won't take it from OH either.
Might try some of the powdered aptamil formula. What temperature would you suggest?

what temp do you give the EBM? try giving the formula the same temp as tht
also you could get a bottle of formula ready and a small amount of EBM in another bottle. start off feeding the EBM and then after a little while change bottles to the formula one you never know it might work?

Omar is only FF on Aptamil powder, & he really refuses to take cold/room temp bottles. I give him warm milk. I think it's bet 30-35 degrees.

I don't know if you can do this, but how about mixing EBM with formula, half an half to begin with, then gradually mostly formula then no EBM mixed in with at all?

I BF DD till 4 months and DS till 3 months, they both went onto Aptamil no probs...have heard of a few babies point blank refusing formula though after BF, maybe talk to your HV and see what she thinks??

Good luck :)
