my baby has reflux and the doctors beleive he has an allergy to cows milk so he is on soy, what would you reccomend for formula, i use good start as that i get free with WIC but it doesn't seem to be doing the job properly, any ideas? i am from united states as well so only stuff i can access here.

My daughter has a cows milk allergy and is also on soy formula after trying hypoallergenic stuff but it did not sit well with her tummy at all. The soy works perfectly for us. We have her on Isomil by similac. Its been great for us. Baby's with cows milk allergy's are often allergic to the protein in soy formula as well though so you may have to try a few types of soy formula and if they dont work try the hypoallergenic stuff(nutramigen)

When my LO turned 1 month I stopped BF and started formula. She couldn't keep down the Enfamil Infant formula (which was a free sample given from the hospital at birth) My Dr. recommended ProSobee which is made by Enfamil. She's been on that for 2 weeks and she hasn't spit it up once!!! That is a Soy formula by the way.

I am on WIC also, so I know you can get it through them. When the lady asked what formula my LO is on she had ProSobee printed right on the WIC checks...so you may need to contact the office and have them specify it on there if you choose to try that brand.

Good Luck in finding a formula that will make your LO happy!

As I said in my other post on your other thread, you need to see a proper pediatrician and look at getting a proper hypo formula prescribed.

Soy is a last resort as its not only contraindicated (because of the amount of estrogen hormone in it) before under 6 months but many CMPI babies are sensitive to Soy too.
