Hi everyone
My husband and I are having a little girl in October
After much debate, we have decided to name her Hana. It means "flower" in Japanese, and I'm half Japanese.
My question is: Just looking at it, how would you pronounce it? Hah-na, Hannah, or Ha-yna? The actual proper way to say it in Japanese is Hah-na, but we're thinking about just pronouncing it "Hannah" so she's not correcting people her whole life (or using both Hannah and Hah-na)...but then a friend of mine said people might think it's "Hay-na". What do you all think?
Thanks
