I'm looking at some lovely Cookies in a Jar recipes that I fancy giving as Christmas presents in nice jars :)... but they are from an US site and I'm in need of some translations :cry: :dohh::dohh:

All Purpose Flour? .... Plain or Self Raising?

Baking soda? ..... Bicarbonate of Soda or Baking Powder?

Is a stick of butter 1oz/28g?

And last .... can we even buy corn syrup over here?

baking soda is definitely not baking powder (two very different things) so I'd say bicarbonate of soda (though I'm not positive what that is :lol:)

believe all purpose flour is plain but will try and double check that with you

not sure on the oz to grams though as math is not my strong suit

okay just checked and yep all purpose flour is plain flour. Hope that helps some :)

Vickie that helps LOADS :happydance::happydance:

Thank you :hugs::hugs:

1oz is equal to 28grams .... but how much does 1 stick of butter weigh?

And what IS corn syrup?

This might help, says you can sub it for golden syrup

sorry :blush: I forgot to come back to this

quickly googled and it says 1 stick of butter equals 4 ounces or 1/4 pound? not sure how accurate that is, if I had a stick of butter I'd weigh it but we don't usually have that around the house these days :lol:
