Hi FJL!

How are things going for you? Do you feel better?:hugs:

Awwwwwwwwwww thanks Poppy! You're so sweet :hugs:

I did a test this morning BFN. AF is due in a few days and I feel her coming on.

As soon as she arrives I am posting my complaint to clearblue - I have it all ready to go!

I'm feeling much better about everything. I've been exercising lots the last few days which is really helping to clear my mind and make me feel better.

I am glad you are feeling better.

What brand did you use to retest?

It was my last FR test. My ebay cheapies haven't arrived yet so it was all I had.

Can def feel AF coming...the typical back pain I get around that time a few days before she is due.

BITCH > :witch: !!!

:hugs:Sorry to hear that - I wish the :witch:would just fly away!

When is your appointment with the FS?

Its the 30th of January - according to my ticker 5 weeks, 6 days to go :D Can't wait!

Aww FJL:hugs:. Sorry to hear what you've been through hun.:hugs:

As you sort of know what is going on, will they just offer treatment straight
away or will they just be giving advice and stuff?

Sorry - as this is a kinda personal question, don't feel obliged to answer!

Not personal at all Poppy! I discuss CM, bd'ing, sperm, AF and all the rest, so the appointment is probably less personal than that

They FS we're seeing is also an ob/gyn and when I rung up for the appointment the only thing the lady asked me is if I was pregnant or if i'd recently had an abnormal pap smear. So she didn't ask what it was for. Since its a 5 hour drive each way to see him, I think i'll ring up and tell her what its for to see if any tests (eg sperm test) can be collected on the day since we live a while away.

As I understand, they will want to do their own sperm test, only its more detailed then a regular test. They wash the sperm and test for other things such as antibodies too. Once they know the results they will suggest the treatment we do. I think on the day he will discuss possible treatments too.

I'm pretty sure it will be IVF (maybe through ICSI depending on the reading they get on the sperm test) and once they give us the go ahead we have to join a register.

From there it only takes 1-3 months to get started with shots and things and we're on our way. Scary but very exciting at the same time!

Do you have a national health service in Australia? In Uk you can get certain treatment (like IVF) free if you are under 35.

We have something called medicare. If you go to the GP for something and it costs you say $50, you will get about half that back on medicare.

If you're married, or have a family then there is something you can join called medicare safety net. That means that once your medical bills excede $2000 in a year then you get more back.

For IVF, its roughly $8-10,000 but you get about $6,000 of that back on MC, more if you're in a heath fund which we are not because its soooooooooo expensive for what you get.

My Mum is going to help us out with our out of pocket costs - she is very well off and supportive, so one less thing to worry about!

:hugs: :hugs:
Best of luck Sweetie!
I'll be thinking of you!

I know with us, we're still on the waiting list with our private health insurer, so it will be a while before we can begin treatment...(unless we have a few thousand dollars stuck up our you know what!)

Good luck FJL - I really hope things go quickly for you and you have a wee baby in your arms in 2008.:hugs:

Maybe we will end up on the first trimester forum together soon (fingers crossed)!

Good luck FJL. I'm keeping everything crossed for you, I really am:hugs:

Thanks girls! Poppy, i'd love to be pregnant with you hun :hugs:
