I hope im ok to post this in here as I don't fancy posting it in general. I was wondering if anyone on here has children from a previous relationship, but have then started a relationship with a woman? How did your family/children/friends etc take it?

I had been with my ex boyfriend for 6 years and we have 2 sons together. I split up with him a little while ago as I haven't been happy for a long time... and well I've met a girl at work. I can honestly say I've never felt like this for anyone before. She's so amazing. Makes me smile, laugh, feel comfortable. Makes me feel happy. But Im terrified of telling my family!! Helppp

I was married to a man for 11 yrs and we have 2 daughters. I've always known I liked women and told him shortly after our 1st daughter was born, which was 9 months after we married. My story is quite long and I dont really want to get into it publicly. However I am now with a woman, and have been for 3.5yrs. My family took it just fine. All my mom wanted to know was,was I gonna have a sex change! Told her nope, I like being a woman. My dad and brother didnt even bat an eye really. My daughters have adjusted well. They were 9 and 11 when we divorced. My family has never made negative comments about gay ppl or anything of the kind so I was not worried about telling them. We arent overly religious either, so I wasnt worried about them throwing the bible at me. Now my gf however was raised in a very religious home and was deathly scared to tell her family. Luckily I am so free spirited about it that has helped ease her anxiety she has had with coming out. Her big thing was and is 1 being judged 2 her relationship with God, is she going to hell for loving a woman. Sometimes the outcome is not as bad as we work it up to be in our head.

They will probably be happy that you are now happy. Sometimes when you worry the outcome isn't as bad as you imagine it to be. My mum hugged me and told me off for not telling her sooner! ha ha. x

Well im going to have to tell them soon... it was our staff christmas party last night and well it was pretty obvious to everyone haha. They were all soo lovely about it though.

So will have to tell the family pretty soon!!
