hhcg levels after ectopic with laproscopy

My level was 716 on 11/15 and had surgery on 11/16. Pregnancy symptoms returned 3 or 4 days ago with positive home test. Have doctor appointment Mondayto have levels rechecked (haven't been checked since surgery). Went to er last night for pain and nausea. Level was 186. Er doc seems convinced that this a new pregnancy. Any thoughts???? I didn't think it could happen this fast but level does seem a bit high to be left over from ectopic.

186 does seem awfully high to be residual hcg from your ectopic after 3 1/2 weeks. have you taken any hpt ijbthe mean time before this recent positive?
Many women do ovulate 2 weeks after a miscarriage especially when early so especially with the return of symptoms I'd also agree it sounds quite likely its a new pregnancy. without repeat blooms its impossible to say at this stage though. all the best!

It's possible it is residual, but EXTREMELY unlikely, as NDH said. I took about two months to clear my system after my D&C, which is unusual, and even I was below that level a month later. Plenty of women do ovulate right away! Get your levels retested in a couple of days. I think it sounds like you've got a fresh pregnancy on your hands! Fingers crossed for you!!!

I'm thinking so. But also finding it hard to believe. I go in friday morning for a blood draw. Not sure if I'm hoping for it to go down because of residual or for it to double with a healthy pregnancy. Its so soon after I'm really worried for my health and the baby's. But I also want tho more than anything....I know you all understand the feeling.
