Hi! and cake question

Hello all.

Iv been on BnB a while, never knew this section existed.
I have a new found love for cooking and baking and decorating cakes.
So I'm hoping to pick up a few tips and some inspiration from you all.

I also have a cake question.
I'm making a giant cupcake cake, and wanted to make the "cupcake case" out of fondant. Has anyone ever done this before?
Any tips would be very appreciated.

My friend shapes her around the base but I know some people use the actual mould to do it.. I'm not sure as I don't really make big cupcakes anymore.
