hi ladies me and hubby been ttc for 3 years we have had 2 losses and very early stages i have had test done got the all clear but hubby got his sperm test back yesterday and his got dead sperm which all men have but the ones that are good are not swimming in tin right directions so his refreed us to the hospital has any one had this and had a baby or is any one going through the same hubby cried last night thinking he wont give us a baby and a family i told him we will do ivf if we can you have good sperm there being lazy his got a vaicoile which is bit like a vacusvein which they may removed its just a waiting game advice would really help us to try and it our head around this thanks ladies i have fallen pregant twice but ended up with having 2 miscarriages i have had scan test etc and been told all is ok i am taking foilc acid hubby on zinc vitiams and vitiam c his off the caffine now cool baths and baggy boxers we both just join the gym and on diets well watching what we eat i am a size 12 and hubby 32 inch so not over weight just being carefull any advice or stories with any one going throught the same and got a BFP i have requested some brochures for ivf incase we have to go down that route xxxx

Hi hun, just posted a reply to your other post, welcome to this section; even though it's sad to be here, everyone is very supportive with ideas and advice. It's really hard not to give up hope but everyone here is in the same boat and i think it helps to know that we're not alone. Infertility is lonely enough. good luck, xxx

Hi and welcome!

Diet and life style changes can improve sperm, so give it a go and then test again after 3 months. What were his numbers? We also have problems with motility and morphology. Don't loose hope, if nothing else works you have the option of IVF with ICSI.

well doctor never told us the numbers hubby has just rung up but our doctor is on hoilday so they are trying to get aonther doctor to look and get back to us we going today for the other sperm test xxx

Just wanted to say....

I have similar probs with OH SA, count of 1 million (ridiculously low) and also Undecended testicle as child and recently found out he has a varicocele, which he has been referred to the urologist for. So waiting to see what that brings!

He has recently started acupuncture and supplements for his count (acupuncturist put him on loads!) been going on for 1m now and has treatment every week...so can keep you informaed as to whether it has helped or made any difference...

I think ICSI is our only real option but trying the non invasive treatments to start and waiting on the NHS list for treatment. ICSI is very sucessful if the male partner has few but decent sperm as they are hand picked and injected into the egg and hopefully fertilise....so that would def be an option for you...FX this next sample is a better result for you x...

hi dillyc we have been refered to hosptial to i have been reading that if you have the varicocele removed within a year the sperm can go back tp high again i am going to get hubby to go to accupunture and try chinese herbs but hopefully they will remove that bloody varicocele he went doctors 2008 about it and they said its so small and it would not cause a poblem if i knew what i know now we would of asked for it to be removed asap hubby on zinc and vitiams c and just hoping thay can get us pregant with out all the expensive of IVF but just going to take one day at a time xxgood luck babe hopefully we will get out BFP together xx

Hi there, I am sorry to hear about your news, we are having a similar situation here, except we have been told he has no sperm at all, which we cannot understand, so he has to go and do another sample, but there is no medical history to point to this, such as disease etc, and we never expected this as he has a 18 year old son - where has it all gone then in these last 18 years!!!

I am really distraught, but I don't think it has sunk in yet, I am still determined to have a baby, his baby, but what if we can't - he is never going to agree to having a sperm donor, and although I don't want that - I want our baby to have his features etc, as you do, but I cannot live without ever having a baby. My husband is 46 and I am 31, so time is not on our side for my hunsband.

I am just praying that something was wrong wiht the test, and that miraculously there will be some swimmers there in the next test.

Its so annoying when the docs say things won't cause a problem....HOW DO THEY KNOW!!! I have looked into it and apparently treatment of a varicocele gives 30% of men an improved count, so hopefully you won't need the IVF or ICSI .....FX
