 My name is Lovey I'm 17 years old and preggers with my first(its a boy). I will be a single parent as FOB has left me to be alone wit LO.
I'm really scared of being a single mom or just being a mom:wacko:. I've always been that girl who has never wanted kids so when I found out I was pregnant it really took me long to accept the fact I'm pregnant:nope:.
I want to know how its like being a single parent? Does it get any better because in my head I have this image that it will never be ok:dohh:. HELP!

Hello and welcome :flow: it's hard but it's worth it and you'll get through it because you have to.

Hi welcome! It's not as daunting is other see it I won't say you will have it easy all the time but the good times outweighs the bad xx

I really don't see what people / society make such a fuss about to be honest. Yes, it's hard work but when it comes down to it, we are just the same as nearly 100% of other 'non single' mothers out there for most of the day. Most of their day is spent alone with their kids as their husbands are only home after work and on weekends ( and even then, lots dont help out as they are knackered from work or make weekend plans with their friends to relax!)

So really...most women do the majority of child rearing alone. Financially, yes, its hard in the beginning, but if you put your mind to it and plan your future well, you can go back to college to study for a better job perhaps (I'm doing this in September) and you can also meet a new man, so men are replaceable in that sense. And of course, kids eventually go off to school, so most single mums can get back on their feet and into a full time job again job to provide more money for the family. Sorry this is long, I just had another person today look me up and down when I said I was a single mother. When your partner leaves you, you dont leave them, well, then you have no choice but to be a single mum FFS!

rant over ha! you'll be fine hunny, just be strong and give all your love to your LO and you'll get it back in spades, it's worth it all!.

Welcome!!!

As the other ladies have said it is hard but totally amazing and completely worth every second. :hugs:
