Had my scan yesterday and he said my fundus was directly at my belly button, put his finger there and pushed and showed me how to feel.

But all the charts say its not at your belly button until 20 weeks.

He was not concerned and neither am I, but just curious if this is just effected by build/body type? I have a short torso anyway....

alot of times they say it can just be the babies position. my fundal height was measuring 25 weeks at my 23 weeks visit and my doctor was completely unconcerned.

I'll bet it is because your torso is short. I have the opposite issue, my fundal height is always lower than normal because I have such a long torso.

I had the same thing at my 16wk appointment and my midwife wasn't concerned either. I'm 21 weeks now and he's around my rib area already so it'll be interesting to see what I measure tomorrow:flower:

This is my second pregnancy so I've felt the uterus on my own. I'm 15 weeks and mine is at my belly button. I think its normal if you have a short torso. I'm 5'1" tall.

Lots of factors can change the fundal height. Mine was measuring a week ahead at 30 weeks and recently 2 cm behind which is due to baby dropping and starting to engage in my case. I think amniotic fluid levels can mess with it, baby's positions, your torso length, weight ect..
Plus i didn't even have it measured until 30 weeks so I wouldn't worry too much.

Could you have a little extra amniotic fluid? And a short torso would also explain the higher fundal height
