Hello ladies,

I went into the ER yesterday due to a high heartbeat. They did an ECG which was normal but showed sinus tachycardia. I asked the nurse what that meant and she said "it means your heart is beating normally but very fast". Theh then did a bunch of blood tests, a chest xray and a venous doppler to rule out clots and heart issues.

All in all, they couldn't figure out why my heart rate was high and sent me home. Now I am sitting here paranoid about it. At the ER it almost rose to 150 at one point. However, it hovered around 120 for most of the night. Doc said it is likely amxiety. At home it seems to be around a 100 to 110.

Any experiences?

I have severe anxiety and have a higher heart rate normally. I range from 100-120 usually. No issues, ive had it all checked. Im just anxious especially in doctors offices. At home im sure it lower.

When I used to have severe panic attacks my heart would raise to 150. Just anxiety. It always fixed itself when i calmed down :)

I get extreme pregnancy tachycardia and have done for all of my pregnancies, it's unexplained and my heart rate has hit 182 a few times and I have almost passed out, as far as I know it doesn't effect the baby but I know how uncomfortable and worrying it can be. Mine gets worse the more pregnancy I get and it has started to have a few mild episodes already, try and relax and don't use ventalin inhalours as it makes it much mice worse! X

You can also do deep breathing. One time I went to the ER for a panic attack and my HR was at 148. They told me to breathe in through my nose, hold for 3 seconds then slowly exhale out of my mouth. Its a natural way to slow things down. Give it a try, it will help :)

I find my hr is high too, when I went to the ER for a bad stomach bug they were concerned it was over 130, but that just feels normal to me since I got pregnant.

I've had this too but wasn't officially diagnosed.

My resting heart rate is usually around 65bpm but it shot up to 90-100bpm when I was only 7 weeks or so. It really freaked me out to feel my heart pounding when all I'd been doing is sitting for an hour.

The RE sent me to a cardiologist and they put a heart monitor on me for 24 hours showing that I averaged 90bpm. They said I had some skipped beats and things but was "ok" for pregnancy. They said it will have no affect on the baby and I should go to the ER or Urgent Care if I feel I need to.

I did cardio 3-4 times a week before pregnancy so I have no idea why this happened. I think some of us are just "lucky" :/
