I'm not really sure where to post this.

Been for 1st scan this morning, was so relieved to see baby wiggling away and that little heartbeat. Then the sonographer said please don't be worried by what I'm about to say it could be nothing. The nuchal measurement is above 3mm (it doesn't say the exact amount in my notes) which could mean downs syndrome or could mean nothing at all.

Now I have to wait to go to another hospital to see a specialist midwife, I have another appointment at the hospital I went to today for 2weeks time, I should of seen the specialist by then.

Anyone else had this?? I'm so worried xx

i had a high measurment in my last pregnancy and i had a risk of 1-92 for dows so i went on to have a amnio and the baby was fine, hope this helps.xxx

Thank you, I'm so worried but have read a lot about false positives (I know I should stay away from google but I can't help it!)

Hopefully everything will be fine and its just a bit of extra fluid!!

Can I ask what your measurement was if you don't mind?

I've had my appointment come through for Tuesday so fingers crossed!! x

i no a ot of people with false positives. I decided not to even have the tests as i couldnt take the worry. A friend of mine was given bad news after that scan and the bloodtests, and was told her baby woud not make it past 22 weeks. But every scan she had showed nothing at al wrong with the baby and she 26 weeks now and both are fine. good luck
