am currently switching ds to hipp.
normally I premake n store in fridge but have noticed on the box of hipp that it needs to be made with 40/50 degree water therefore can I still store in fridge because shouldn't the water be 70 to kill bacteria?

anyhow just wondered how other made hipp up?

I boil the kettle and let it cool more than I would have when using other milks before adding the powder then let it cool a bit more before using it xx

I make them fresh with half cool boiled water and half hot boiled water.
My issue with making them in advance would be how are you planning to reheat them?
If you are going to microwave them, I personally wouldn't as that would kill the good bacteria they add to the milk. That's also why you use lower temp water in the first place so you don't destroy the good bacteria. But I understand your concern about bad bacteria so I just use fresh.

You can't premake and store the new hipp in the fridge. It needs to be used within the 2hr range or the friendly bacteria multiply too much.

They have been through rigorous checks to allow the 40degree make up temp rather than 70. I used to pour boiled water into lo's bottles on a morning, seal them up and then left them on the side. When I needed one I would add formula powder I had measured out in pots, shake, and go.

Meh, I premake the night and first morning bottle, I spoke to someone who emailed them directly and their reply said it was ok.
I make the others fresh though, I boil the kettle leave it the required time and fill a flask, then use that water all day.
In the email reply they said something along the lines the risk of bacteria is lower then the benifits you get using cooler milk and get the probiotics. (sp?)

I boil the kettle and pour out water in to the bottles. Then when I need one I warm the water for 15 seconds, add powder shake and feed. Or sometimes just feed at room temperature.
Anyone got any good storage tips for the hipp? That box is a pain in the bum with those foil packets!

I fill sterilised bottles with boiled water and leave in the cupboard. When baby needs a feed I just add the powder shake and go :) . Dont need to warm the feed as DD3 prefers them room temp and fusses if it is at all warm.

Im aware that this isnt in line with the WHO guidelines of adding formula powder to water at a temp of 70c+ before anyone informs me ;-) xx

I fill sterilised bottles with boiled water and leave on the side until needed. Then I put in the microwave for 30-50s (depending on how big the bottle is and how cold it is in the house) just to give a little warmth for the powder to dissolve, add powder, shake and go.

i normally just boil my kettle, wait 40 minutes for it to cool, make up a couple bottles and store in the fridge, they get 30secs in the microwave when ds2 is ready for a feed. OR after the kettle has cooled enough i put the water in my flask and make up fresh, just depends how busy a day im going to have and how tired i am at night time xx
