Hi all.. i was wondering if anyone has used this and what they think of it?

My HV has told me to change to a stage 2 milk today to avoid early weaning. So when I looked, the stage 2 version of the usual formula we get is only from 6 months, but this one is from birth. Ive bought some but confused about why one is 6+months and this one isnt?

anyway like I say I have got some but just wondering if anyone had a similar experience. or just an opinion on it really! i just really dont want to wean yet if i can help it

ta!

I haven't tried the stage 2 milk - it's new and came out too late for me to try but I have used the stage 1 and 3 Hipp milks with no problems at all - thinking of trying the stage 4 in a few weeks. My LO seemed quite satisfied on the stage 1 milk (Hipp) until 7-8 months (and he was a hungry baby) so it might be worth trying that first if you are using something else - unfortunately you can't buy a few cartons to try - you have to get a big box. I think the 6+ months thing is due to the type of milk protein the formula contains - but don't quote me!

Thanks so much that's really helped, I've bought the 2 now which he seems to be struggling with, so maybe will try the 1 in this. Thanks again x

ooopps forgot to mention - the first time we switched from the infant stage 1 to the follow on stage 3 - he had a few problems with belly ache and constipation but 6 weeks later we tried again and he's been fine. So I would try the stage 1 first and then in a couple of weeks try again with the stage 2 - his stomach might be just that little bit more developed enough to cope with it. Hope that helps xx

I think the stage 2 is in fact just extra hungry milk, with a different milk protein (like the other hungry ones) to keep them fuller for longer and so they want the same amount of milk and don't need topped up with food.

Fro the HIPP site:
HiPP Organic Second Infant milk is a nutritionally complete infant milk suitable for hungrier babies, providing the nourishment a baby needs from birth onwards.
Due to the higher proportion of casein protein in HiPP Organic Second Infant milk (casein:whey ratio of 80:20), babies are generally satisfied for longer
It can help delay the early onset of weaning in bottle-fed babies
HiPP Organic Second Infant milk is certified organic, and is free from GM ingredients
