Thanks for reading :)

Firstly a little history on me, I have two DD's from a previous relationship when I was 21 and 23, I didn't have any problems with conceiving them.
I have had two miscarriages since one in 2008 and one nearly a year ago, since then I haven't been on the pill and went from ttc not ntnp just recently...

Aaaanyways, I went to the doctors this morning as my cycles are all over the place I have had anywhere from 35 to 45 day cycles, some I ovulate some I don't but the ones I do ovulate on, like last cycle for instance I didn't ovulate until CD 33 :-| I'm now on CD 38 and no sign of ovulation yet...
I have given up on opk's as they are nearly always 'nearly positive' this cycle and its frustrating. Obviously me being me I have googled A LOT and it always comes back to pcos but I don't really know if I have many of the symptoms... for instance one says excess hair I don't have that apart from on my legs but thats just cos they need shaving :haha:... Acne... I don't have that but I have noted that I am a lot more spotty on my boobs belly and back, YUK! My moods are up and down more than that of a pre-pubescent teenager :( I'm usually a very cheery person and I have gained over a stone in under six months :(....

SO anyways my GP has ordered some bloods to be done, Thyroid, Glucose (I think? I know I have to fast anyways) FSH, LH and testosterone... What I really wanted to ask is what can I expect the results to be if it does turn out that I have PCOS and what can I expect to happen from here? thanks for reading and I'm sorry for the essay... :hugs:

Hiya, if the doc gets an abnormal result on your bloods (these can vary Sooooo much in PCOS) then they will send you for a trans vaginal us to confirm diagnosis!

Hope this helps you somewhat x x x

Thanks for your reply betty...
Ooo interesting, I remember (this is a new thing I remembered) years ago when I had my scan with DD the sonographer mentioned that I had cysts on my ovaries... I thought that's what the doctor would do, send me for a scan but she said she would refer me to a gyno and they would possibly give me metaformin... :shrugs: its all so confusing! lol

Thanks again for your reply :hugs:

Your welcome, all docs are different but as far as I know the only way to confirm PCOS is a scan  also I had two scans one in July 10 2mths off bc off bc and it was 'normal' then one in march which showed bad PCOS, I asked why the one in July didn't show it and she told me that you need to be off bc 6 mths for the 'true' state of your ovaries to be seen on a scan because bc masks the PCOS :dohh:

Hope I have helped and not confused :haha:

Well..... That would make sense as after my mc I had a few cycles that were 30/32 days and they have just gotten progressively worse... from 35 to 36 to 44, 45 and on... last month was a 48 dayer this month is going to be longer... it kinda made me laugh as I asked her when the bloods have to be done in my cycle and she said preferably when you're bleeding.... ERRR hello I don't know when thats gonna be and daymn when I do bleed I only bleed for like a day! lol

I had cd 2 bloods and cd 21 bloods ( although they were done on cd 23 because of my longer cycle)

It was actually the bloods that were done when I was bleeding cd2 that made her send me for the scan, the results from them coupled with the confirmed no ovulation made her look deeper and bam PCOS :(

Keep me posted as to how you get on x x x

Thats the only thing with my surgery is, usually the nurse is chocka block for at least 2-3 weeks so I had to book for the 27th in the hope that I will get af around that time, if I don't i'm not really sure what to do apart from cancel my appointment

Will definitely keep you posted on what happens... I fear it maybe a long wait though

Aww that's rubbish, can they not squeeze you In seeing as this isn't a definate science.... Or could you go to the path lab at the hospital? Seems silly, the stress of 'needing' to cone on for your app may delay it in a cruel ironic twist :dohh:

Man this fertility rubbish is long winded and craply organised eh!!

Well I was kind of hoping she would give me provera or something to get af going but she didn't really mention it... Maybe I should have.... gah! If I haven't come on by the end of next week I will go back I think...

Yeah it is! lol.... Its amazing how things can change so drastically!

I was feeling quite happy yesterday, pleased that I had an understanding gp that was going to help me out but today I'm feeling slightly terrified :dohh: I think too much! I do my own head in lol Oh and of course I bow to the devil that is Google every chance I get lol.

Yeah I would go back and see her, seems so much of this stuff is on a wing and a prayer :dohh:

I am a rollercoaster of emotions, one min im fine with it all the next rock bottom! I just want a baby!! Not greedy one would be enough :haha:

I went to my Doc's twice about ttc before i even got cd21 bloods,
Finally i am at the stage of being referred, However i am assuming the gps basically have a check list you have to go thought before you get your referral,
Unless they suspect something i wrong, However after reading up on every ones posts, i think the check list does vary, And only after you have been to the docs more than once do you get taken seriously,
I have so far cd21, ultrasound for pcos (generally you dont get this unless you have symptom's however i had none) even the women at the hospital had no idea why i was there,
But i was in luck when i got my results a nice doc called said i need rubella teast and chlamydia test and then i get my referral.
So it does depend of the gp try and find a nice one, and always go back after you have checked one off, The appointment with the gp who i spoke with last is 3 weeks but i will always go back to her,

Well I seem to have 'maybe' ovulated! FF has me at 3dpo on dotted cross hairs so it is a maybe... to be honest I can't see a pattern but then my temp has been up and down like a yo-yo but then so has the weather ;).

It's horrible isn't it, I am lucky I have my two little ladies BUT the desire/desperation to have another one or maybe two is overwhelming but at the moment, if I'm honest, I would settle for just getting my cycles sorted... I feel so let down by my body sometimes!

Wow it sounds like you really have been through it hun :hugs: I really am very luck, my GP is great! I hope you get to the bottom of it soon sweetie :hugs:

Ooh yay let's hope you did ovulate  does dotted crosshairs mean maybe then? I dont temp because of sleep pattern being erratic so no expert with ff!
you are lucky to have your little uns but the desire is the same weather you have any or not! I think women have a baby switch the flicks to on and can't be turned off until there is a baby on board :winkwink:

Babypink2010, hope you get to the bottom soon, you had far less to check off the list than we did so that's good!!

So do I, if I did it would mean that I should be bang on time when my nurses appointment :D that would please me! I'm pretty sure dotted lines kinda means... "I think you may have ovulated but i'm not 100%" lol If it continues to stay above 36.50/60 I will be pretty sure I have as pre o temps are as low as 35.98.... my chart is like a rocky mountain though so half expecting a massive dip and the o date to be taken away.... wouldn't be the first time this month lol

Aww well I'll keep everything crossed that you did and your on time for your blood work!!

A little update on me, I had to cancel my appointment yesterday as af still hadn't arrived! and guess what, she came this morning  isn't that just typical! I'm so pleased she's finally here though, after 51 long days I can finally start to get the ball rolling :happydance:

Well that's just sods law eh!! Hopefully you cal get the ball rolling and get somewhere soon!!

I have been started on metformin now so keeping all crossed for that bfp!!

Yeah I'm hoping so hun!

Awww thats good news, I'll have everything crossed for you hun... Keep me posted xxx

i will do, believe me if i get that bfp i will be screaming from the rooftops :haha::haha::haha::haha:
