Hmm. Kinda gross question.

So I woke up with a sinus infection, or at least what seems to be one. Complete with nasal drainage and the whole works (miserable) ... I was just thinking, obviously the drainage is going to my stomach, and I think I've swallowed more than my fair share of yuck today from my throat..

Gross I know But that cant be good for baby? I've been spitting it out obsessively, but can't seem to think about swallowing it during my sleep.. ugh.

I don't think sinus drainage will affect the baby - I don't think we digest the mucus more so than we just pass it.... don't think there's much nutritional value to it so I'm doubting it affects the little one!

It only makes my stomach hurt when I have alot of drainage.

I'm sure your baby will be fine.
Maybe you should try steaming in hot water so you dont get a sinus infection.. with all the mucus getting stuck into your forehead etc.
Your baby is well protected in your tummy

It just sucks for you.. drink lotsa orange juice and rest!

Thanks ladies, I guess it makes sense that it wouldn't do much more than go.. straight through me. Bleh. I just thought as much hype is given to what you eat and drink and take.. that swallowing infection probably wasn't good. Hah

I am so excited to get my immune system back after I have bubba.. I've been sick so much since I got pregnant.

AHH! Me too I usually get sick alot, like colds, during winter.
Im dreading this winter for sure!

Exactly! & I didnt get the flu shot, due to being completely paranoid.. and now I'm wondering if that was a bad idea.

Ive had 2 colds in 3 weeks, I mean, full blown. No bueno! This is gonna be a looong winter. I feel ya girlie.

I don't get flu shots , period.
Now I live in FL and it hasn't really been cold yet, so I'm lucky.
I'm originally from Holland and I used to be sick several times a winter.

How're you feeling other wise?
Are you feeling your little boy move/kick?
We have the same due date!

Oh how neat! I'm feeling great otherwise, I was laying on the couch tonight, kinda propped up and I felt a STRONG kick in my lower abdomen. I was thrilled, so of course I pulled up my shirt and was watching and he kicked 2 more times, hard enough that I could see it! I thought that was too cool. I'm not feeling it regularly, but when I do he definitely makes himself known. lol.. how about you?

Aww that's so cool!

my little girl has been kicking since about 19 weeks, I feel her about everyday, at least once.. since about a week.
Usually the kicks are hard enough to feel/see on the outside.
Some are faint.
Some days she's quiet though, but I guess they still have so much room in there so that's normal.


Cant wait for the movement to become regular!
