So i had a c section 4 weeks ago, and they want me to take birth control but I have PCOS and im afraid my body will become reliant on the hormones and wont concieve my next baby... so me and my husband decided to let things go and be in Gods hands and NTNP as in when were ready for a second baby he will give us one. Did any of you not take birth control after a c section??

I didn't. It took us three years to conceive our son and we didn't want to make it even harder for next time. I was exclusively breastfeeding though so my periods didn't return till 8m pp.

My son is 15m now and I'm 8 weeks pregnant, so it took us about 5m of ntnp to get our second bfp x

i know what you mean.. it took us 2 years to get my daughter and thats after testing and meds.. everything. im not taking any chances of my body going haywire.

Hi.
I didn't use any contraception after my c section, as I had fertility issues previously, I wasn't breastfeeding but we got pregnant on our first month of proper trying.
My son was nearly 8 months old when we found out i was pregnant.
I did ask the doctor about how long to wait after csection he said 6 months is good, 1 year is fab but if it happens it happens and not to worry or stress over it.

I know supposedly you are more fertile for a few months after having a baby.

X

im glad im not the only one not using birth control after...

I also have pcos and took us around year and half to conceive with help from metformin. I had my little girl at 28weeks due to pre eclampsia via csection. She is now 12 weeks old and im not using any birth control but my bp is stil high so I have to be careful anyway.

What happens happens and is meant to be! Xx

I didn't go back on birth control pills, but we did use condoms. My specialist knew after losing Joshua we wanted to try again, and advised us to wait at least 6 months to reduce the risk of uterine rupture. After 6 months we stopped using condoms and got pregnant that month. Most drs/consultants will advise not getting pregnant in the first 6 months. Your body isn't prepared for another pregnancy and can increase your chances of all sorts if problems including miscarriage. Your body needs time to heal and restore. x

I'm not using birth control pills or anything but we do use condoms. My Dr actually was very supportive when I told her that I didn't plan on using anything but condoms because I am pumping so we don't want the hormones in my breastmilk. It took me almost 2 years to get pregnant and I ended up needing fertility help but I'm not willing to take a chance with no protection at all because of having twins. I definitely don't want another baby right now so condoms are the best choice for us.

twins!! wow ya i dont blame ya at all.. i understand the fertility help in the same boat here.. they want me to take this mini pill thing but i just dont want to chance it.. i want to at least have one more baby before taking birth control.
