Well I am in my 37th week, officially on Friday so only a couple of days to go. Had hoped/expected FOB to have contacted about something, at the least names [something fun!] but no nothing. Taking into account that he lied about having a job again I feel I have reached the point and am now officially classing myself as 'going it alone.'

If he or even his mother had contacted... even his brother [!] then I would have been happy but I feel bridges have been burned. I was responding to another thread and realised if FOB was not FOB, a random person say, I wouldn't want my LO having anything to do with him. He lies, emotionally blackmails and bullies, does not accept responsibility nor olive branches... or the whole damn tree.

So, as drastic as it sounds, I have blocked emails [not that I had any] and am about to change my mobile number as the stress of waiting for a random number to pop up is too much. Also have been receiving nuisance calls from a withheld number who, after a pause to establish its not a fax or computer, hangs up when I answer... the only unknown number who I know actively calls out withheld is FOB... so it is a tad creepy and have recorded my issues with my phone company, solicitor and MW who have all suggested changing my number.

But, as dramatic as it sounds I feel I need to declare I am officially a single mother with no help/advice/assistance/support from FOB.

So ladies, just wanted to say a big thank you for all the support you have shown me in the past 9ish months. Really couldn't have got this far with my sanity intact without you all. No doubt I will be needing support later on after baby is born and I love helping you ladies out too. I feel like we have all become a close knit bunch of friends, if that makes sense. Hehe!

:hugs: :hugs:

I have blocked all contact with my ex. I have also changed my phone number because any withheld numbers made me feel sick. It sound slike you're definitely doing the right thing. You don't need any extra stress in your life.

I can't believe you're almost full term. How did that happen?

You're going to be absolutely fine and as I said before feel free to pm me anytime :hugs: xx

I don't have a ex to deal with so I do feel for u ladies who do :hugs:

Are u family supporting u? F ur ex and f is family! They are the ones missing out n if they are too stupid to realise that then u really don't need them.

Good idea to change ur number, some men don't deserve to have children.

Hehe.... sooooo scary!!! Had a growth scan yesterday because the MW was worried she was small [needless to say FOB wasn't there as he has never voiced any interest etc and felt a bit out of place in the waiting room] but had my mum and sister with me. Saw her beautiful face, tiny nose and little tendrils of hair, little lungs doing practice breaths and she is A-OK! Am super excited now, can not wait for her to hurry on up, eviction notice will be given on Friday. Haha!!

My family are right behind me, even my Dad. He is normally indifferent but he is really really pissed off with FOB, never seen him care so much which was kind of a sweet surprise. I worked really hard up until a couple of Sundays ago, sometimes doing 10hr shifts so have sorted myself out money wise. Just looking forward to seeing her now.

:hugs:

I'm glad everything is ok. I always felt out of place in the waiting room for scans or appointments because the majority of women were there with a partner. They were worried my son was going to be small and he was born at 8lbs 11oz xx

When I would go for scans while pregnant with Corey I'd get stared at because it was just me and my son. And then when I went into labour and delivery to get a check up there was all couples n then me and my son on the end lol I could feel the eyes burning into the back of my head.

Afew people have asked me "where's dad" they crawl up their own arses when I say he's dead, which I actually find pretty funny.
Who the hell cares if ur a single parent or not, ur kids won't and I no that because I grew up with just my mum and I was never bothered I didn't no my dad, I was actually pretty happy that I didnt

:hugs: It's awful when people just make assumptions :hugs: xx

Definitely agree our kids will be happy.

I always felt like I had to explain that I was in a relationship but he ended it etc..

I even told the midwives what happened when I was in labour. I felt like I had to explain why my mum was with me. Midwives were all lovely though and always reassured me it was his loss.

Even now though I feel when someone asks about his dad I feel like I have to explain rather than just saying he's not around. I need to stop.

I think I find it awkward because it was me who left FOB and so when people ask and I say I then feel I need to explain why I left him and I also left him hoping he would realise what he had lost and man up. Makes for really awkward conversation.

It should really be them who feel awkward and not us. They're the ones who aren't bothering. Even though you ended it he should still be manning up! :hugs: xx

It's no ones business and it really does my head in when people ask, yes if he hadn't died I wouldn't be a single mum but I am and we don't need men for god sake.
Don't explain ur self to anyone.
If someone asks n u saying we are no longer together isn't enough tell them he's dead lol it really does shut them up lol

Single mums are always judged. I own my own home and around the corner is council housing (I grew up in council so nothing wring with living in one) I have been asked by several different people "oh is this affordable housing" I feel like saying is £199 995 affordable to u? :dohh:
And especially if uve got more then one child they think it's by different men.

Well that turned into a rant lol just drives me nuts to hear woman being made to feel we have to explain ourselfs

And the icing on the cake for any doubts I might have been having. Found out last night that a couple of nights previously he had taken his mate [the one he gave £500 to] to hospital after he broke his leg playing football. When we were going out I remember phoning him saying I was too ill to drive and he wasn't phased, said I probs had a bug and ended the call. 20 mins later I phoned another friend who not only drove me to the hospital but stayed with me the entire time.
Not only that but FOB can drive his mate to hospital but not pick up a phone to ask how the pregnancy is going.... so made the right decision. Am so mad.

Easier said then done but he's really not worth u getting mad over!

It takes more energy to hate him then it does to not feel anything. This is ur baby, not his x

Agree - try not to let him get to you :hugs: He dooesn't deserve you or your baby! :hugs:xx
