Hi Ladies

Wondering if there are any homebirth ladies out there that want somewhere to get together and have a chat ? Would love to meet some like minded spiritual folks interested in a natural birth.

Love Chrissi xx

I'm booked for a home birth, although I wouldn't call myself spiritual, just too attached to my own bed to want to go into hospital!

Are you US or UK based? I'm very excited for labour this time knowing that it'll be more relaxed.

Hi !! I'm in the UK and am hiring private midwives. Have you read any of Ina May Gaskins books ? Xx

No but I read a hypnobirthing one which was really good. I'm in the UK as well, fortunately the area I'm in is very pro home birth and all the midwives are lovely.

Will you be going for a water birth or a dry land birth?

Sorry I'm slow to reply I keep forgetting to check haha. I'm hoping to have a water birth because I love having baths anyway and know that I would feel more comfortable in water than to have the baby out of it.

Oooh yeah hypno birthing I need to look for a class. I have the Gowri Motha cd and although I love it I need to find a recorded hypnotherapist with background music. I like ocean noises, or jungle noises.

Where are you in the UK. I'm lucky too as I live in North London and there are many alternative courses on offer here. My midwives are just the best.

Xxx

No worries, I'm busy running after my 3 year old myself!

I'm in South London. I tried for a water birth with my first and the water was brilliant pain relief. I'm not going for it this time as I'm in a second floor flat and I'd be too worried about flooding the downstairs neighbours! I can always use my shower for a bit of pain relief.

I hope you can find a hypnobirthing class. I didn't bother with classes but I've done visual meditation before so I'm pretty confident about just using some of the methods described in the book and I have a white noise app on my phone with rainfall noises that I plan to use as I find it more relaxing than music.

Yay a fellow Londoner ! I'm in an upper floor flat too but I'm sure all will be fine the midwives don't seem concerned so I'm not. Will ask them though lol. But I have my bath.

Classes are pricey. Was looking at one at the Active Birth Centre lol it's enough paying for independent midwives, NCT and yoga classes so I need to go cheaper with the hypno birthing. But I'm lucky I know a lady in Muswell Hill who's a trained therapist too hopefully she's cheaper lol.

Well lovely. Have fun with your three year old ... I'm back with the little ones tomorrow. School restarts !

Happy Sunshiney Sunday
Xx
