Hi Ladies,

I have found a girls name that I like and OH quite likes it too, we think its different but not too different. Would love to know what you all think and I know you'll be honest :haha:. The name is:-

Alba

The only times we've heard it are Jessica Alba and in a couple of films we've seen where theres been a little girl called Alba. In Celtic it means Scotland so since we're from Scotland it seemed quite appropriate.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Jo xx

I really like it....it's got a nice ring to it!! What would the surname be?

Love it! DH and I discussed it as a potential name after watching The Time Traveller's Wife recently. Lovely name :flower:

Never heard of it as a first name before but I like it . xx

it's a lovely name, my niece is called Alba, she's not from scotland though. Weirdly she has a penpal (or email friend I guess they call them now) friend called alba who lives in the states too, I think it's becoming more popular these days.

I'm Scottish too, but have never came across an 'Alba' but I love it :)

I think it's a beautiful name but living in Scotland I wouldn't choose it myself. Puts me in mind of those saltire stickers you see on cars around here. But it is a gorgeous name, very pretty but also a good formal name.

It goes well together, i thought it was a pretty name when i saw the time travellers wife too :)
