I thought of you and closed my eyes, and prayed to God today; I asked what makes a mother and I know I heard him say....

God: A mother has a baby, this we know is true.

Me: But God, can you be a mother, when your baby's not with you?

God: Yes you can.

(He replied with confidence in his voice)

God: I give many women babies - when they leave is not their choice. Some I send for a lifetime, and others for a day, And some I send to feel your womb but there's no need to stay.

Me: I just don't understand this, God. I want my baby here.

(He took a breath and cleared his throat, and then, I saw a tear.)

God:I wish I could show you what your child is doing today. If you could see your child smile with other children and say,

"We go to earth to learn our lessons of love and life and fear. My mummy loved me oh so much, I got to come straight here... I feel so lucky to have a mum, who had so much love for me; I learned my lessons very quickly - my mummy set me free. I miss my mummy oh so much, but I visit her each day. When she goes to sleep, on her pillow is where I lay. I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek, and whisper in her ear, 'Mummy, don't be sad today, I'm your baby and I'm here.'"

God: So, you see, my dear sweet one, your child is okay - your baby is here in my home and this is where she'll stay. She'll wait for you with me, until your lesson is through - And on that day that you come home, she'll be at the gates for you.

So, now you see what makes a mother; it's the feeling in your heart. It's the love you had so much of, right from the very start.

Awwww....made me shed a tear.

 So sorry for your loss. I'll be thinking of you and your LO on their upcoming birthday. Will you be holding a ceremony or anything? Take care xx

Thanks tashandbump, i am actually not sure of what me and DH will be doing, i just know it is going to be very hard on both of us. My plans so far is to be working very hard that day, that's if i decide to get out of bed that day.

But god has a plan for us all.

As I just had my d&c today this poem was so comforting. I am literally here crying because it was so beautiful. Thanks

That is really beautiful...did you write that?

No, I found it when I went through my own miscarriage and it was a great comfort to me... I remembered it and how comforting it was when I cleared out my favorites on my computer, so thought I would post it up here so that it could help others going through the same thing...

I wish I could credit whoever did write it, as it is so truly beautiful, however sadly it is all over the internet by different users - each claiming to have written it themselves :( That is so sad, I think.
